because i feel like the majority of you guys have more or less the same amount of games as casuals but don't even play as much as them according to yourselves. What's up? 15 games? That's it?

Where are the people like me who have over 100 full retail games from this generation alone and complete most all of them? (hopefully you're smart and get them at a low price like me!)

Oh and some people have diferent views on "hardcore" Some say hardcore is how much you know about a game, how good you are at it,etc. Others say how much you play regardless of the same 1 game 10 years or 1000 games in 10 years. etc

I have 4 games, but I've completed about 50, if I had a proper job that'd be like 150, and I'd probably still have most too, I trade my games in because I don't get much money.

I say it's playing games and being indulged in them. To say that those guys who get crazy at Halo aren't teh hardcore is crazy.

You need a lot of games to be hardcore? What if we aren't made of money? Does that mean we aren't hardcore? TC's logic fails.

No, I'm saying that you guys mostly say you have 10-15 games and you just play through them. Resume talking about them.

I'm deeply sorry. I forgot i was supposed to impress you. I'm not a hardcore gamer, or a hardcore talker about games. Why would i want to be either?

I just play games that i think i like. Simple really :)

For the record, before i started a new profile. On PSN i had about200 trophies. Yep that's all. Not one platinum, and only like 3 Golds, and i've ahd a PS3 since the EU launch.

On the 360 i have just hit 16k gamerscore, and although i've only recently bought a 360, i've had this profile since its Uk launch, and have played about 90 games on it.

Not impressive is it? Does it matter? Not at all.

SolidTY's gonna come in here and write you an essay on how silly you are. Tsk tsk.

Your E-Penis is indeed huge.

I use the internet more thenI game. I work on it. I use sites like Facebook a lot, and on the side i post at GS.

Posting on GS takes FAR less time then it does to earn an achievement/Trophy.

Gone are the days when people boasted about jobs/cars/spouses. Now we argue who sits infront of a TV tapping buttons longest.

So TC, number of games is what makes you "hardcore" now? I'll be sure to add that to my list of 20 other things people have said make them "hardcore" on SW.

I'd guess I'm a 'hardcore' gamer. I don't own 100 games this gen but I have about 30. that doesn't really matter though. I judge that term by how good people are at games, not by how many they play

i prob have 30 this gen. have beat prob 20. for a successful college student on a sports team it is difficult indeed to have the money and time to buy lots of games. but i play all the time and immerse myself fully in video games. i think thats what its about. if you consider video games a part of your life and invest energy into them. thats hardcore.

I don't have $6,000 or even at half price, $3,000 to spent on games - and even if I did, that wouldn't make me a hardcore gamer - most games aren't worth playing.

So if you're playing all these games (primarily casual) it doesn't matter how many you have played. A guy can buy 10 games a year and be a hardcore mother******.

For example, who is more hardcore? Gamer 1, or Gamer 2?

Gamer 1 Plays/Owns:

ATF: Armored Task Force

UnREAL World

Swords of Xeen

Mount & Blade

Player 2:

Modern Warfare 2

AC2

Fallout 3

ES:O

*I* personally would pick Player 1.

If one games too much they have no time for people. Not being around people you like isn't much of a life imo.

I have other priorities than gaming. If I had the time I would game a lot more, but I have to devote my time to many other things. I use my computer a lot so of course I'll be using the internet, which in turn I then browse the forums and other gaming websites.

I disagree on it is the amount of games you have by the way. What if one gamer buys 10 games and the other buys 5, yet the second gamer beats all of his games 100% while the other finishes all of his games but only the main storyline?

Being a hardcore gamer isn't about how many games you have, or even what kinds of games you play, it's about your attitude towards gaming as a whole. It's possible to play PC Flight Simulators casually (if you already know a lot about the flying of planes beforehand, that is), it's possible to own like 100 games and play them casually if you're just not that interested in game, but even a person with "only" a dozen or so games and no obscure RTSs from Slovenia can be dedicated to their hobby

About 40 games on discs, downloads on computer, then console downloads. Spend way more time playing them than talking here. Try again ;).

because i feel like the majority of you guys have more or less the same amount of games as casuals but don't even play as much as them according to yourselves. What's up? 15 games? That's it?

Where are the people like me who have over 100 full retail games from this generation alone and complete most all of them? (hopefully you're smart and get them at a low price like me!)

Overall, from the Atari 2600 till now, I own a crapload of games. It's actually ridiculous. But for this gen, I don't own that many. More than most people I know, but nothing compared to many of the users here. Anyway, I don't really play a huge variety of games. I like action/adventures, platformers, FPS, some fighting, some football, some racing but I've shunned pretty much the entire RPG genre - which is pretty farking big.

Lately I am pretty much a "talker" tbh since I spend more time on SW than actually playing games. I just don't have time these days. When I come on SW/Facebook, it's just a brief break from working but procrastination means you stay longer than expected.
