I thought about getting it, but after playing the Beta, there isn't really anything to do, once you get to the highest level the only thing to do is PVP which is terrible and I guess do raids, but there is nothing else, it's not like in World of Warcraft where you have so much to do, such as Collecting companions/mounts, leveling up crafting proffessions, doing lot's of instances to collect armor sets or weapons and so much more.
The money in this game is useless as well, there isn't anything to buy with it other than to pay for repairs.
For how much this game is going to cost, for me personally there is nothing in this game that would keep me playing for more than a month, I get bored fast I need lot's of things to do, and this game only has 14 trophies, which take hardly any effort at all, and I don't feel like leveling 6 characters to level 30, I got bored on my second.
I think I'll save my money for something els, this game is just a giant map full of buildings with a few quests, just an over sized single player game, as there is no real need to team up with anyone, it's complicated and not clear.
The beta wasn't so good, as i gather. Haven't played it myself. Another case of great ideas, but very poor execution. Having the game to work on a console must have pulled them back a lot too. Don't expect too much, about 7 - .7.5 on GS.

[QUOTE="spookykid143"]Most MMO's have a monthly fee i know... probably why i'd never play one... ah well...if i ever wanted to play one..this would have been it. That is poor logic. Do you know that WoW can keep you busy the whole month? You can play nothing but WoW, and still have great fun and want more. It's that addicting and fun. That's 15 $, not more. This is unacceptable for you, but 60$ for a 12 hour game is acceptable?[QUOTE="campzor"]if there wasnt a monthly fee i may have.campzor
I will wait for reviews and official monthly pricing for ps3.
I would like to try getting into 1 new mmo this year. Old Republic would likely have been that MMO if it came to PS3 or Mac.:(

I think I heard DC Universe is $14.99 a month.
I thought it looked cool, but I'm not willing to pay a subscription to an MMO. It has nothing to do with the price really, but I don't want to try and get attached to another MMO.
I know they generally aren't great, but if I ever feel any need for an MMO I usually just find a free to play game, and play that for a little while. That way there's no committment :)

^ @campzor,Well that's understandable I guess. But ou have to understand MMOs are expensive to develop and maintain. Which is the reason behind the monthly fees.
[QUOTE="jasonharris48"]"but..but guild wars is free" trust me..you're going to hear this next Guild Wars isn't a full blown MMO though. i want to buy it because i have about two dozen ideas for funny superhero names and i like console mmos but everytime i look up info on the game it just looks god awful.
The only that really annoys me is that the PS3 and PC players are on different servers.i want to buy it because i have about two dozen ideas for funny superhero names but everytime i look up info on the game it just looks god awful.

not having pc vets around was a blessing.
that game had the best community in an mmo i have ever seen, it would not have been that way if the pc players were there.
Nope.Horrible customer support for people living in Asia.Tried the beta and freezes on Brainiac's ship in 2 minutes.Contacted costumer support, complained on the forums at sony station, enabled port forwarding but still I can't play more than 2 minutes. Many australians are having the same problem.I think the game was made keeping in mind only the US and European gaming community.conistantspeaking of horrid customer service is this game run by SOE? (sony online entertainment) because this is their idea of customer service when a problem arises.

if it's an soe run game i really don't know if it's a good idea to get interested in it.
EDIT: oops i was trying to add another source and double posted this sry.
Actually, the end game here is very similar: Wow raids -> DCO raids WoW dungeons -> DCO dungeon Wow heroics -> DCO heroics WoW rep grinds -> DCO rep grinds WoW achievement hunting -> DCO achievement hunting WOW cosmetic item acquiring -> DCO costume style acquiring WoW gear grinds -> DCO gear grinds WoW pvp... well, you should get the point by now. Pretty much everything endgame that wow has, dco has. One thing it really is missing is the crafting. meanwhile dco has duo dungeons which WoW doesn't. So, their endgames are very comparable.I thought about getting it, but after playing the Beta, there isn't really anything to do, once you get to the highest level the only thing to do is PVP which is terrible and I guess do raids, but there is nothing else, it's not like in World of Warcraft where you have so much to do, such as Collecting companions/mounts, leveling up crafting proffessions, doing lot's of instances to collect armor sets or weapons and so much more.

Oh yes, and I am getting it for PC. I really liked the PC beta.
back when i was playing wow i bet i skipped over buying at least $1000 in games. mmo's are the cheapest way to game i can imagine.No. I'm in both betas and while I like it, I don't like paying practically full price for the game AND a monthly fee.
No effin way.
heretrix
others may not get the kind of mileage out of them that i do but i still bet if you play nothing but an mmo for a few months then go back and buy the games you normally would have after they drop in price you actually come out ahead of where you would have if you had never played the mmo.
