I've been a gamer for at least the past 20 years now and during my time I've owned almost every single home console at one point or another, but NEVER at the same time. This gen I started off eagerly awaiting the arrival of the PS3 since the past decade molded me into a Playstation fan, but as the time went on I got antsy and purchased a 360. Over the past year I have grown VERY fond of Microsoft's console and would say thus far it is my favorite home console to date considering the amount of fun and options I have with it. I went so far as to denounce the PS3 seeing no need to own one since the 360 covered MOST of my gaming needs.

As time went on I picked up a Wii (Mainly for my fiance, but I play it more now considering I just got Manhunt 2 and Resident Evil UC) and FINALLY Christmas day I received a PS3. Completeing the trifecta of home console ownership. Now I have had extensive playtime on all three and have grown to enjoy each one for their pros and complaining about each one of there cons. I have seen the ins and outs, what htey do and what they don't and conclude I STILL prefer the 360 as my favorite, but have a respect for the others and receive ample enjoyment from them as well. Which brings me to my question. As a multiple console owner do you feel overwhelmed sometimes? I mean I have at LEAST 2 games per console and at least 2 games at all times I WANT to play for each with more popping up everyday. I'm the type of gamer who REALLY likes to focus on one game at a time and see it through to completion and feel like I get lost if I play other games at the same time or lose interest in the story. Does anyone else feel like this? Do you feel like perhaps having ALL three is a bit too much? Or feel like by the time you get around to playing all the games you want for all the consoles it'll be time for the next gen to start?

I own a PS3 and a 360 and I don't have time for all the games, and I only play the best. Not trying to sound arrogant or anything, but I'm not casually playing a crappy game just to kill time or get achievement points.

I've had Orange Box since release, haven't touched EP1 or EP2 yet or TF2. Bought Mass Effect on release day...haven't even opened it yet. Got Uncharted for Christmas...still not opened. Own CoD4, played it online a ton, barely have touched the single player. Focusing on Assassins Creed and then I'll go from there...

I own all 3 and it sometimes takes me a year to make it through a game. :( I'm a little overwhelmed and I end up buying too much, then having a huge stack of games to finish.

Oh and I hate going back and forth between games because of the different controls and the story. Going back and forth between FPS games is especially frustrating because of the different controls. One game the button is shoot, and in another its duck. Hate that.

I like to focus on 1 game and do everything and with 360 this includes getting all the achievement points. It just bothers me if I don't get them all. Don't feel like I've "beat" the game if I don't accomplish them. I'm weird like that.

Overwhelmed yeah. Back in the day i didnt spend alot of money on games, because A i was either to young for a job
B i didnt exactly make alot of money

Now i have a job where i get paid very well(waiting tables is easy 100 dollar nights), and i buy at will, or i save at will and then buy at will.

I mean I havent touched Bioshock and Metroid Prime 3 in awhile and i really, really like those games. Its just i was trying to finish everything else up. Like SMG, Halo 3, Orange Box, get higher levels in COD 4. Mass Effect. ANd next month.

Im gonna juggle DMC 4, SSBB, and probably Lost Odyssey and No More Heroes.

IM F'ing pissed.

Yes, absolutley overwhelmed, but in a good way. I cant stand the thought of missing out on a good game. But i have to admit, i have too many games. I cant decide what i want to play...so i end up playing nothing, if that makes any sense at all.

Yeah i totally agree, I've Been a wii and 360 owner both since launch and recently got a PS3 free with a phone contract! I'm currently playing Ace Combat 6 and PES2008 (Love soccer games) along with COD4 and Halo 3 online! For my 360 i still am yet to finish a number of games from Bioshock going back as far as R6V, and currently have Mass Effect and PGR4 in plastic wrap! My Wii only really getsused now for my Girlfriend or when i have a couple ofmates around but still looking forward to Mario Kart and SSBB. And as for my PS3 that has been turned on i think 3 times since i got it just before christmas, i got Motorstorm and Resistance free with it and have onlyhad a couple of quick games on Motorstorm and not played resistance yet!!! Gaming is great they just need to invent more time!!!!

Well I have some catching up to do. I for the moment play old games likeFFVII, Terranigma, Fallout 1&2 and other classics I've missed out on. My DS is working hard with Castlevania DoS and Zelda:PH and will work even harder with Yoshi Island 2 and Advance Wars DoR. My Wii is currently running hot on Metroid Prime 3 and will be on SMG in a few days.

My Xbox 360 and PS2 is on hold though. I will return to BioShock, Crackdown, God Of War 2 and replay them amongs others when I'm done with these one, and perhaps even finish Devil May Cry 3, Disgaea 2 and Metal Gear Solid 3 if I get the energy to it.

I think I'll skip games such as Assassins Creed and Mass Effect.

You should try playing a game in a different genre than you normally would.

Not really at the moment. There are a lot of games I need to get caught up on, but come spring/summer when the new slew of games start coming out, I think I will be way overwhelmed.

Yeah I'm overwhelmed and I don't even have a PS3 or 360. For my PC I still have to beat Bioshock, The Witcher, several of the Orange Box games and I still have barely scratched the surface with both Oblivion and Company of Heroes which I got recently. On my DS I have to finish Phantom Hourglass, not to mention that I want to get Dementium the Ward. For my PSP I have GTA: Liberty City Stories, and Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops to finish. For the Wii I'm almost done with Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition (1st time playing the game and it is awesome!), I beat Super Mario Galaxy but I'm like 35 stars short of 120 which I have to get, I also have Metroid Prime 3 which I haven't even touched yet because I'm trying to finsh Prime 1 & 2 via the Wii's backwards Compatibility. Hell now that we're talking about Backwards Compatiblity, I got a crap load of GameCube games to play on my Wii that I have to beat such as Wind Waker, Mario Sunshine, Eternal Darkness, Viewtiful Joe, Resident Evil 0, Tales of Symphonia, Baten Kaitos, Skies of Arcadia Legends, Freedom Fighters, Metal Arms: Glitch in the System, and Hitman 2 among others. Hell, on Virtual Console I'm trying to finish the entire Donkey Kong Country Trilogy, as well as Ocarina of Time, Contra III, Super Castlevania IV, R-Type, Gunstar Heroes, Dynamite Headdy, and Sin & Punishment.

To top it all off I still want to get Call of Duty 4 and Gears of War for my PC and I'm looking forward to Bully, No More Heroes, and Super Smash Brothers for my Wii. However I might just get Super Smash Brothers until next holiday season so I can beat all these damn games that I have. My backlog is becoming insane and I don't want to just skip any of them.

I have a Wii60. Yeah, Wii and Xbox 360 are an awesome combination. On one hand, you have amazing graphics and awesome online, and on the other hand you have great innovation, but between the two of them you have an amazing games library. I will get a PS3 later as time goes on, but for now Wii60 does the job :)

NavigatorsGhost

You sound like me. I play ONLY the games that interest me. I bought Mass Effect and KNOW it's a 40 hour ride, but I'm BARELY into hour 4. I play COD4 multiplayer ALOT eventhough it gets me nowhere. I currently own a 40 gig PS3, Xbox 360, Wii and PSP slim. Right now I have Manhunt 2, Resident Evil UC, Super Paper Mario and Super Mario Galaxy on Wii ALL of which I have BARELY played. On PS3 I have Ratchet and Clank Future, and Resistance FOM. I'm barely ito hour 2 of Ratchet and haven't even looked at R:FOM yet. For 360 I have a little bit done in Mass Effect, about an hour into Asassins Creed and little bits of Kameo and Oblivion left and FINALLY on PSP I JUST beat Ratchet and Clank Size Matters (THANK GOD) and now I'm working on SIlent Hill Origins. I feel like by the time I get to all these games the next gen will be underway and I'll be left behind. Not to mention more games are coming soon. I have a headache just thinking about it.

Do any of you regret owning multiple consoles because of this? I know it sounds weird, but sometimes I feel that way.

YUP! That sounds like me. I told my fiance to buy me Resident Evil UC on Wii about two weeks ago. She said "WHY? You have like 15 gmaes left to play" I replied "CAUSE I NEED IT!" 2 weeks later. Haven't even opened it yet LOL!
