I get the impression that you can actually just jam along with the instruments.

edit. This is what I've found out.

Drums: Play like an electronic drum kit. Move the sticks in front of the TV to hit the drums.
Guitar: When strumming, move the Wiimote up and down the scale to get different chords, or hold C button to play notes.

So far that the impression and only impression we all get. Jam along with 50+ instruments... Sounds pretty fun. But you'll have to do something to unlock them.

I don't get where all the hate is coming from. This is totally different to Guitar Hero and Rock Band which are more like Dance Dance Revolution. Wii Music Drums alone makes it worth the money. An electronic drum kit would cost 10x the price of Wii Music.

All the hate is coming from the over done angry shooter games. These other fanboys will never understand how fun the Wii is until they actually try it. The Wii in some odd sense encourages me not to play so much video games; not to make it habitual. The Xbox and PS leave your face stuck on the TV at the end of the night.

Wii music will be great!

Yeah, I think your right. I'll probably get it. I own an Electronic Drum Kit but it's so much hassle and the plastic frame is broken. :(

I can't believe though that they're comparing it to Guitar Hero!! Why?! Those aren't even music games, they're rhythm games.

"Don't criticize what you can't understand" That's what Bob Dylan says. Most people in the world criticize what they don't understand, and it makes the world a rude place.

The comparison/contrasting is: Video game, game console, game with music. That's enough to compare it with Guitar Hero. GH is great. It's fun. Wii Music will be great and fun too!

I disagree with them being compared AT ALL. They're totally different.

Guitar Hero: Press Buttons in order to play a layered audio track. Impossible to generate tone.
Wii Music: Generates tones.

Well I'll say this: Don't worry about what the other people think. It doesn't matter to you. If you're upset because you're not fitting in (or rather they're not agreeing with you) than change it.

Watch THIS, it's funny and full of profanity!

have you played the drums on rock band? wammy bar much?

Wii Music is a layered track just like RB/GH, In fact, I played this game 20 years ago on a synthesiser... where you press any key and it would play a preset song... and yes, you could change the tone *gasp*

viewing this game as anything less then a cheep attempt to cash in on the popular music game market is idiotic.

This is my point, It's not a layered track. In fact it uses Motion Sensing Plus in order to hit the correct notes.

Here's the difference.

Guitar Hero = No Creativity. Keep pressing the buttons and the music track keeps playing.
Wii Music = 100% Creativity. Wii Music Wins.

That is true. The thing is that Wii Music takes almost no skill while Guitar Hero takes quite a bit. I wonder what you could do to get something musical that takes creativity and skill at the same time...

Oh wait!......no, lost it....

Anyway as an amateur drummer, I am telling you that Wii Music requires skill. I can tell from the video.

See!?! I'm not funny! It's HILARIOUS!

Although, as the self proclaimed "best bassist ever," I can say that the skills required are different, since the drumming is done through button presses. When Wii music becomes the music game to have is when people should cut the crap and pick up a banjo for real.

Everyday it sounds more and more like Wii Music is less of a game and more of a... music making program. Except the music sounds like garbage and you don't really have control over the exact notes. It looks like one of those crappy little music making toys that little kids play with and drive their parents insane.

I don't understand the appeal of this game. Unless you're obnoxious.

I'm 24, I've been playing Piano since I was 6 and Guitar since I was 16.

I see what your saying, but Wii Music is much cheaper than musical instruments.

I could understand why you would play Guitar Hero or Rock Band over playing a real instrument but this? The Wii already has a habit of making you look like an idiot but this takes the biscuit.
