Cows have proven they're willing to pay full price for a year old port with barely any noticeable differences and demos.

These days I will rarely pay full price for a new game so obviously not, add in MS BC and it's a big fat NO!!! :P

TLOU "remaster" came out on PS4 1 year after the PS3 release, full price and cows were so happy to pay full price....again. How can we forget about the $40 demo cows happily paid for as well.

That had more to do with the new gen starting and people buying the game having not had the PS3 last gen.

I don’t see how Sony and MS fannies came into the mix. Anyway, Nintendo owners have proven time and time again that they have no concern for money when it comes to Nintendo. They are always willing to pay more for less so it’s not surprising.

Nintendo is taking the piss, but their fanbase will suck up anything. And a few days ago I finished Gears of War 1/2 at 4K. And they're only 20 a piece. And you can go even cheaper by buying a used copy and installing it onto your Xbox.

Well I would hope so if you're just buying it now but remember it came out 4 years ago. It didn't just launch a short time ago. Many many many cows were only to happy to get it at full price......again.

And isn't gta5 a last gen game that everyone seems to still be buying? I don't think this is specific to cows, Lems, herms, etc.

Indeed. having recently purchased a PS4 and seeing it's store in comparison to the Switch, it became instantly apparent the grand canyon sized difference in pricing. Not just from Nintendo but third parties actively trying to shit on your face.

Reviewers seem to give it a free pass as well.

Unfortunately it has a shit ton of games I have 0 interest in (The New Order, Knack, Call Of Duty Advance Bla) and a bunch already owned on PC. PSN seemed like the best course. Aside from some great deals like Yakuza for £10, it had a shit ton of classic PS1 JRPGs for 3 quid a pop.

Overall, very good.

Take a trip to Nintendos Eshop and they never put their own games on sale, and majority of the games are already price gauged to the point getting a discount equates to an already fully priced title.

Yes however it depends on a variety of factors in different combinations that will ultimately decide if I feel that the game is worth it to me for the price that they are asking for it. That kind of goes for any game that I purchase though.

I love my switch and I have quite a few games. I really want DKC:TF on my switch, but I'm not paying $60 for it. I paid that for the Wii u version when it was new. That's the same reason I don't have skyrim on my switch. I paid $60 for for the 360 version on 11/11/11. I also bought the pc version from steam at some point for $10-15....not quite sure when.

I'm guessing you're having a hard time understanding the topic at hand? TLOU launched in 2013 on the PS3 then came out on the PS4 in 2014. According to cows posts, they were oh to happy. Of course cows are going to have selective amnesia about it, it's already started. Still, the game was a PS3 game that was remastered and launched on the PS4 1 year after it's original launch which is what the topic is about, paying full price for a last gen game.

Nope, it's about all consoles since the question is "are you willing to pay full price for a last gen game". It doesn't ask "are you willing to pay full price for a last gen Nintendo game". This question applies to all consoles.

I don't like when Nintendo does this, but manage to avoid it the same way I avoid paying $60 for all games. Wait for a sale or price drop. I'm a patient man with a large backlog :)

@kingtito: I read your post, but comparing a game that's only 1 year old to a game like the OP showed (Donkey Kong) is a bit different. I think someone else tried explaining. I'm not sure what cow bought TLOU on PS3 then rebought it a year later for full price on PS4, but they're idiots if so. I thought the Remasters were a great idea since it seems a lot of 360 only owners jumped to PS4 this gen and missed out on them. I only bought it because I hadn't played it on PS3. I have all the Uncharteds on PS3 so I didn't bother buying the collection. And I know the title didn't specify Nintendo. But it seems they are being the worst at it right now. I guess on topic: yes, I'd pay full price for a remaster if I hadn't already played the game.

No it's not. It's a gen 7 game re-released on a gen 8 console, you're just trying to move the goalpost. If TC wants to edit his original post to limit it to games older than X, then fine. As of right now it's previous gen games released at full price on current gen consoles and TLOU remastered falls directly into that category.

I know people that have. I know people that aren't cows, owned it on PS3 and bought it again for the PS4 and he's far from an idiot. Whether you believe they have or not is irrelevant cause cows on SWs were 100% in at that time.

Only exception I will make is for Nintendo games, mostly because I know they never come down in price. For everything else, it doesn't take that long until I see a price reduction, I wait until I see good sales on things like Dead Rising collection, Bioshock collection, Arkham collection, and so on, waited until I saw Skyrim for $10 before picking it up. But yeah, Nintendo rarely slashes prices on their things so if I want it I don't bother waiting.
