Yes I know yet another one. People still can't stop using the term "Halo-killer". I just wanted some thoughts on this one. I think that the article praises Forge too much. Seriously, Forge is a map custimazation tool not a map editor. UT3's mods and such easily blow it out of the water, and supposedly the single player is great too, the only question that remains is will it make it for Holiday 07 on the ps3. Yeah Orange Box will definitely be the best FPS this year even if it is a re-release to some extent. You just can't beat the value of the box, plus there is something for everyone (team multiplayer, puzzle, Half-life2), and the fact that a lot of console gamers like me never got to experience the brillance of Half-life 2 and the gravity gun. Timeshift has a cool concept but is likely the weakest link. Crysis should be great but the article makes the case that system requirements will put ppl off and limit its appeal. Haze should be great for asymtric warfare, uses of nectar, graphics better than Halo, coop, but the online while in question is made by free radical and will have the asymtric warfare (two sides with different abilities like R:Fom), more players 24, and vehicles too. CoD4 should also be great without a doubt. Maybe ppl won't be playing Halo online as long as they thought they would, or atleast they shouldn't play only halo because then they will miss out. I wonder why Killzone 2 didn't make the list, but then again it said Holiday 07 and its not out till early-mid 08 plus we still don't know much about it, especially the multiplayer.

nice popst, halo 3 will not be goty. its a mediocre ending to a great series but it has been polished and had new vehicles added to make it a bearable campaign and online experience. the orange box will give CPR to the genre halo 3 nearly killed with its generic gameplay stretched out too long. Its fine where it is BUNGIE lets leave it there!

Yeah I agree. Halo maybe be a good game or even a great game but that is really because of how polished it is and not how innovative or original it is. My only problem with Halo is how overhyped it really has been, ppl make it out like it's the end-all of gaming and it isn't and it pisses me off to no end. I have played Halo1 and 2 and they were fun, but I honestly had more fun with R:FoM and the Red Faction series.

Halo 3 is an amazingly fun experience solo and online. Its so stupid to think the hundreds of thousands of people who play online each day are only casuals and thats why Halo breaks all video game first day, week, and probably month sales. There are thousands upon thousands of hardcore gamers playing Halo 3 every single day. And no game coming out this year will reinvent the wheel, but will they actually be fun? Halo survived its hype and was well recieved in the press and by Halo fans. It won't be my game of the year becasue that is reserved for either Bioshock or Mass Effect, with a nod to Super Mario Galaxy as well. But all in all Halo 3 is just a great, great game.

Now its UT3, Crysis, and Haze's turn at bat. Personally when the smoke clears I feel on The Orange Box and UT3 will be of a high quality. But neithr of them will come close to Halo sales, press coverage, or beat Halo 3 in any awards. Just my humble opinion though.

Halo 3 already delivered whether haters like it or not. Now lets see if the other games deliver.

Theres no smoke to clear on the orange box. We all know that hi-res Half Life 2 >>>>>>> Halo 1,2 and 3. I'd like to see a Halo fanboy even try to compare their "preciousses"(Gollumn voice) to Half Life. As for the 3 new titles, another Half Life can't be bad (of course it could be like Episode one and very short), Team Fortress 2 is amazing from what i have seen, and portal is bound to give people hours of fun. 99 acheivements and massive replay value, spanning the FPS genre in all areas but co-op :( this game is pretty much a guaranteed AAA providing they manage to fit it all in that tiny box.

UT3 will be a damned good game but really only successful on pc, where most of the real gamers are ;)

Halo3 is just like a blockbuster movie. All the $ is spent on the glitz and glamour of getting the movie out so that even my grandmother knows what it is. (Seriously.) After its said and done, after its broken all the records. It was just yet another action flick with tom cruise. Everyone knows there are way better films out there, they are the ones that win oscars.

I think its safe to say _____(name a good game) is better than halo3. Will it be able to "kill" the sales? No, of course not. Unless someone spends 10 million to market the "killer." Game. Will that game "kill" it by getting better reviews as well as winning GOTY? You bet.

Halo3 had great hype to be a good fps. It lived up to the hype... its a good FPS.

2.7 million copies the first week... 300 million dollars of sales the first week... Doubling the 360's hardware sales.. Not to mention AAA scores across the board.. And that's just the first week. Can you please show me any one of those games that will do that.. As you can see I'm a halo fan, but I do recognized that there are games out there that are better... Hell Bioshock has a MUCH better single player/story than Halo 3.. but it doesn't have the same appeal... Hell Halo was the top selling game in Japan last week... JAPAN!!! :o
