Article: Halo 3 Graphics Could Use Some Work

Microsoft gave a sneak peak at its "Halo 3" game on Friday, presumably the final chapter of the fast-paced shooter trilogy that the software giant is banking on to help it fend off competition from Sony and Nintendo

Gamers at the invitation-only preview gave mixed reviews.

"The graphics can use some work ... They're not much different than the previous Halo," said Nicholas Puleo, editor of gaming news Web site Evilavatar.com.

"They've got five, six months until release, so they'll add some polish ... When I compare it to other things in the platform, it's not standout."

But I agree, the graphics need some work. Looks like... dare I say it? Xbox 1.5 graphics. It's like seven Wii's duct taped together. But it being in the beta stage, I can forgive it for the supreme lack of "wow." If the framerate stays nice and the graphics get better, it will be awesomesocks

It's even sadder that you've made up your mind about a game based off the Beta run.

Unfortunately, when a game goes into the beta phase, many of its graphical assets are already finalized. The graphics will no doubt get better by the time the game releases, but I wouldn't expect any kind of huge graphics overhaul.

Yet when IGN, Gamespot, 1up all play it and say it looks good and plays good it doesnt count?   I fail to see the logic in that.

Graphics could get some enhancement...and they will get some.  But they said months ago that they goal wasn't to make it look like Gears.  People are going to have to accept that and play the game that will feature some of the best gameplay and entertainment ever in gaming.

hes basically saying the official sites are real gamers, even though they play games for a living....
