You're not alone. I've been reading FB from hardcore fans on PC boards and most of them seem to be pissed with the game and find UT2004 to be much better.

I wouldn't brag about mods until you see them. The mods have to be built for PC then put on PS3. If you know anything about the UT3 community on PC, it's not very active.

I think some minor mods have been done to the PC version....but I think the stuff done to the PC version is mostly with file tweaks and stuff like that...which is probably gonna be not allowed for the PS3 version....I would think the PS3 version would be limited to single file stuff mostly...like maps....and those will probably have certain size limitations due to the closed nature of consoles.

dude!! the disappointing things that people are talking about will be the same on the 360 as well. the visuals really wont be any better, the gameplay will be the same, and so will all the modes. and, the 360 version wont have mod support. that makes it worse.

the reason why the game was delayed for the 360 was to give microsoft and Epic time to figure out how to bring mods to the 360.

You can always get the 360 version when it comes out. For sure there will be voice support and every single player will guaranteed to have headsets. Plus you'll get achievements for amazing frags and such.

They should spend their time figuring out how to put a good SP in the game instead of useless mods.JiveT

You've never played Unreal have you? The game was designed around online play. MODS are a huge part of the Unreal experience. You've never played it and you know nothing about it. Epic in the past has always released free map packs I expect no less from them this time. I do understand lems though, if you don't have to pay for it; it must not be any good right?

I have this game and it does have voice chat. You press and hold right on the digital pad.

You can't just talk in to it and expect it to work lol.

Exactly. It's foolish to ask for a single player game from Unreal. It is an MP game. Do you complain when Dead Or Alive doesn't have campaign mode? How about when Madden "careers" are just games against "bots" over and over.

gimped version? why bcz it has a locked framerate?... thats not always a bad thing thats pretty much the only diffrence with the PC/PS3 version...

I have UT2K4. Still going to buy this. Halo 1 is the best of the three, but do you skip the next two because of it? Nay, my friend, you buy it and play it.

UT isn't for everyone, but it's one of my favorites.

I really hate to say this because i always have nothing but great things to say about PS3, but i must admit im disappointed with UT3.. FIrst off, why is there no voice chat supported in the game?! I mean like noone talks whatsoever, and how do i know when im playing against bots or actual other people?! The graphics are gorgeous no doubt but this game is very confusing.. Im going to keep playing it and see if i can get into it. I do remember that when i first got warhawk I hated it but after awhile it grew on me and its now one of my fav games.. But so far UT3 for PS3 leaves a lot to be desired..

A lot of the things you talk about were apparently resolved with the latest patch on the PC version. I expect that the first patch for PS3 will fix all the same stuff as well.

Apparently the Mic does work but nobody has a clue as to how to use it. Mark Rein said he'd talk to some developers and get them check that the mic functionality is working properly.

People have had it working though..

PS3 had a great year. It did not live up to expectations sales wise (Sony admits it), however in terms of games, it's all subjective. I don't really care of your "experience" in gaming, obviously you haven't woken up yet.

Yeah okay I'm in total denial because I have a differing opinion than you. So apparantly titles like Uncharted, Heavenly Sword, and Warhawk are examples of a lousy year for the PlayStation 3. Totally man, I understand. As for sloppy ports, it's devs fault.

the bad part about it is.. I honestly dont see how games like this score 8.5 but other good games that deserve more get scored lower.. This game scored the same as warhawk and warhawk is much better in my opinion

Its a niche game...the Hermits tried to tell you cows....this is a game thats only gonna appeal to a small amount of people....

that said....I imagine the game will be a lot better with a keyboard and mouse.

Yeah, I'm not sure what the TC is saying about "no mic support." There's no flippin way they made this game without chat, for ANY system. Maybe there's an issue that isn't allowing to work properly, that makes more sense. And if thats the case, Days hit it right on the head. Update.

buy a 360 or PC. TF2 and Halo blow that POS away, and you still get to play COD4

Dreams-Visions loves:

-Vehicle CTF. Just love it.
-NightWalker. Yea...it accounted for 80 of my kills in one CTF match.
-all the old weapons. still intact and solid. And the pistol is actually worth using now. It used to blow.
-skateboard thing. extremely convenient, yet has a risk/reward aspect.
-Warzone. gets very intense.


Dreams-Visions hates:

-driving controls for most ground vehicles. steering absolutely sucks. was never this bad on UT2004.
-dropping frames? watch the animation for the basic pistol closely, for example. It's like there are frames missing. not smooth at all. doesn't affect all weapons, but definitely affects some. And yes, it is distracting.
-30fps. On a UT game, it often feels too low when doing fast spins trying to get a quick shot on someone. Hard to see/focus.
-voicechat. Where the hell is it? My understanding is that it's not working right now?
