Sony is going to try to quickly introduce PS4, especially seeing how quickly PS3 is going to fail. But it will be too late. The entire CES/console based world will have been converted to Vista Wintel. Also as the launch date slips further and further back for PS3 Sony will try to say they have found a way to include '4th generation technology.' They will of course introduce a very expensive version of PS3 for Japan only that will be offered as 'the PS3' that will be coming to other markets, but it never will and it will be nothing like the actual PS3- a pretty stripped down unit. Sony will also bitterly try to lie about its sales numbers but the global consensus will prevent it. Sony pretty much from the start of this generation will be known as the big loser in this venture. Further none of this is unexpected for anyone that knew anything about the two firms. It took MS four leisurely years to permanently knock Sony from the saddle and basically turn everything into Vista/Wintel. So this is certainly no upset. Its something that was fully expected. The permanent reign of MS is about to start. Also we shouldn't forget that along the way MS passed up Sega and then Nintendo. MS was the Led Zeppelin of Software, now it will be the Beatles of Content. Certainly there will be no 4th generation of consoles. The console game is over.
MS beating Sony was the furthest thing from an upset. So we just have to be absolutely clear that it was certain from the beginning 4 years ago that MS would absolutely trounce Sony and it would stay that way. As MS was making amends and shoring up loose political ends over the last 4 years it was preparing for an expanded and much more public role on the world stage. And that time begins now. We can just see a massive price cut for 360 just prior to the launch of the way over priced PS3 for which Sony will have a huge financial disincentive.
TC seems to be in some kind of dream world with all the crazy text. I wonder where all this came from because from what is happening on the street Vista is the worlds biggest mistake and the 360 is loseing more and more people to the PS3 now.
Bite me for that one. EPIC!! HA HA!! It is not that bad as someone in here said it is a matter of perference! If you have had sony consoles in the past you will be happily suprised with this one. It also depends if you are a fanboy or not and wether or not you are open to even trying another console... The PS3 is in last now, but over the next two years in sony AND microsoft dont lower their console price point to where the wii is now they will both be epic failures! Don't judge a console till you've really played it!

Why would they abandon a platform thats only starting to sell decently and forget billions invested in the development of the cell?
It takes years of development to bring out a new console, it took a whole year just sorting out yields to produce the PS3 even after the specs were finalised.
Getting developers on board takes time too, they would largely have to abandon their development for the PS3 and lose millions aswell, they'd never look at developing titles for Sony ever again.
It would be the fastest way to put a nail in the Playstation coffin.
Sony really messed up on PS3 launch day. I seen 1000's of people in line for what? 20 systems per store. Of those 1000's of people, many decided not to get a PS3 when they finally became available due to the lack of games. I have 3 friends that were planning on getting a PS3, however none have purchased one as of yet - all claiming there are so few games that interest them.
Sony already delayed the launch, and when it was time to launch, there were so few available. Sony had the chance to get a BluRay player in many homes courtesy of the PS3, but the launch was a complete and utter failiar. Shame on you Sony! Seeing as the PS3 was delayed for what? 1 year? That should have given the game developers time to get some great games for launch. What would have happened if the PS3 did not get delayed? How many games would have been available at launch? 5 maybe....
The people/team responsable for the PS3 launch hopefully were fired. Had they worked for me, they would have been fired the day after launch.
