As the Wii nears it's 2 year anniversary, I gotta say

Well, the first year was awesome, I haven't played it much this year than SSBB.

I don't think it's bad like the gamecube, but my fear of lacking 1st party and some 3rd party game came true.:(

it missed hell loads of 3rd party games (BS,F3,GTA4,SR2,FF13,t6 etc etc)Ratchet_Fan8

lack of first party games? What? Atleast one game from almost every major Nintendo franchise has been released. How is this lacking first party games?

After 2 years and going on its 3rd Christmas and still selling out accross the country, and the games now suck worse than ever...good job Nintendo, your marketing department derserves raises.

Missed a lot last gen also.....

ANyways you would still not expect a huge benfit from the sales the Wii is getting until mid maybe late next year. Based on the time cycle it takes to make a good game.

SSBB, Mario Kart, Bloom Blox, Endless Ocean, Blast Works, No More Heros, TofS 2, de blob, Animal Crossing and the Strongbad games are games that come to mind on top of my head.

It is just easy to think it has not been a good year when other systems are doing really well right now.

I am enjoying my Wii quite nicely, lately its been all about my Wii this last couple of weeks, I think the next few weeks will to 360 with Gears 2 and Narutimate Storm on PS3.

Meh...i liked my Wii at first...but i grew tired of it so fast...meh. at least i made a lot of money selling it.

my PS3 keeps me infinitley more entertained then my wii ever did

I barely play my wii but when i get games developed by nintendo and play them i get the best experience of gaming this gen.

I agree TC. The Wii had an excellent first year but lately the game library has been lacking within the last few months and it looks like it'll continue for the next month or two.

But still, the future is still shaping up to be pretty nice. I only wish gamers had the common sense to see this. But hey, what do you expect out of fanboys right?

i mean other than world of goo (AAA), Bomberman Blast (AA at ign), Orbit Style (AA at ign), De Blob (AA), Wario land (A), Star Wars TFU (higher rated than 360 version on ign), tetris party (AAA ign), SimCity Creator, Guitar Hero,

and other than VC releases like Secret of Mana, Super Mario RPG, yea other than those 11 total games release from september to now, other than those ELEVEN i am totally out of stuff to play?

its not like nintendo has given me virtually every expected first party title it could produce in 2 years (fire emblem,paper mario, super mario, super smash, animal crossing, twilight princess, mario kart)

and i mean cmon its not like they're trying new things by publishing and developing Disaster Day of Crisis, and Fatal Frame?

geez.

i can't run out of things to play on my wii, but i suppose i'm a fluke!

still having fun playing mario kart wii, and it's the only system that my girlfriend plays - thats always a plus

but seriously, with all these great games coming out on 360 and ps3, the wii's falling way behind the curve. Don't get me wrong, I still love playing it, but I'm just glad i have another system (ps3 for me) and I can't help feeling sorry for those who own just the wii.

hopefully the wii will get some new games worth playing, though.....

Quanitity doesn't make up for overall quality. Sure, Wii has some games that top most games on PS3 (like Super Mario Galaxy), but for the most part the games that are being rated highly, regarded highly, and listed often are mediocre compared to what's available on the PS3/ 360. No More Heroes was great on the Wii, but it probably wouldn't be such a big deal if it were on the 360/ PS3.

2008 was ok...No More Heroes, Brawl, Mario Kart, Boom Blox, and (IMO) the best version of Megaman 9Waffle_Fish

Yes SMG is without doubt an great game, but the crazy gravity and its levels didnt caught me like Sunshine.

The first year was kinda bad, actually. The Wii was awesome from Q3 2007 - Q2 2008, and now it's back to where it was.
