I was hoping for at some high 7's to 8's on this game. But it seems like its going to get more like 6's which is terrible and doesnt earn a buy from me.
The game isnt even out yet you tool, it doesnt release until tommorow. The two sites that have reviewed it are also not very reliable, EGM is the biggest excuse for reviews in the worl and some crappy site in the UK which wont get the game for a few months is useless. Topic phailed

The previews weren't hopeful with respect to the controls. Since that's the first thing reviewers look at now, I never put much faith into this title.

I read somewhere that EA established a separate studio for developing Wii games. Was that the studio responsible for Madden? Or is Tiger Woods their first game? Or did they make both? :?

That's what the market is for. If people like the games, they will buy them. It's not Nintendo's job to police all the games that come out for their system.

What I'm wondering is if the controls are really "tacked on" or if the people who played it suck at golf. Think about it... If you suck in real life, why would be any better with a game that tries to get as close to the real thing as possible? I mean, anyone can hit the A button, but I would think actually swinging would be a lot different. I also imagine this game has a higher degree of difficulty than the Wii Sports golf (which I am terrible at). Myself, I think I'll demo it first before I pass judgement. And since I suck at the real thing, I'm pretty sure I'll suck just as much on the Wii version. :wink:

Don't be too hasty now. There's only two reviews out for it so far that are listed at gamerankings. EGM gave the Wii version a higher score than they did the Xbox360 version, they just overall didn't seem to like the game as much as Gamespot. Ngamer UK only reviews Nintendo games it seems, so I can't compare. Still, this means there's a decent chance the gamecould score well at Gamespot, at least if they share EGM's opinion that it is the superior version.

its not going to be that good guys...and really, does it even matter? There are already 3 golf titles including this one! HOW MANY DO WE NEED!?!?!??!?!
This game does look fairly bad though. Apparantly its supposed to be too precise, little twists in your natural stance affect the direction etc. though this may seem ironic for some, but the graphics do look fairly ps2'ish.
That's a matter of opinion. I've never had a huge interest in golf games myself, but the Tiger Woods series seems to have gotten decent reviews, at least at Gamespot. The latest entry got an 8.2 for the PS3/Xbox360 at Gamespot.
I will find it very funny if Tiger Woods gets something like an 8.5 on Gamespot, with a "Best" tag for the Wii. Not that that is necessarily going to happen, but there's a chance.
