Asassins Creed: (whatever) to have microtransactions also

The next exciting, incredible, Assassins Creed will have microtransactions once again; to save time and power-boost the player, in no way will it effect the main game, other than a convoluted progression system.

Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, like its predecessor, will have microtransactions. Ubisoft confirmed that they will be used to accelerate progress and save time.

“Assassin’s Creed Syndicate will include paid options to save time and accelerate progress,” development director Francois Pelland told IGN.

“The model for Assassin’s Creed Syndicate is quite similar to Black Flag, allowing players who do not have time to fully explore our huge game world to still be able to eventually acquire the game’s most powerful gear as well as other items.

“Rest assured, all of Syndicate’s content is available without paying anything additional and the game has been balanced such that microtransactions are 100% optional.”

Syndicate is far from being the only AAA game to openly have this type of monetization. Konami’s The Phantom Pain and PES 2016 have it, and so will Halo 5: Guardians. The value of what’s on offer or how balanced it is against the in-game economy can only be assessed when the game is out.

I'm not worried, last time the microtransactions just helped you unlocked things you can unlock with in-game currency. Funny thing was you still had to complete some campaign or MP milestone to unlock the gear anyways before you could even use in-game currency or hack points (points bought with real life currency), so it's kind of worthless even as a shortcut.

Now, what will matter more is the way in which you level and acquire skills and gear. In a game like AC: Unity, they made the SP progress unlock like a competitive MP character from a ground state, including the use of skills and not just gear. And they gimped the players pistols, and the combat controls were unresponsive. They took away whistle luring too. Lots on that end I hope they don't **** up. Seriously though, microtransactions are the least to worry yourself about. If you really cared about the AC games (or you knew what you were talking about) you wouldn't have brought it up in the first place, if anything you know that gamers will pretentiously get in a tizzy if they hear that red meat word and you're just trying to light a firecracker under someone's ass.

AC: Unity was a game that hadn't realized what it wanted to be. It wanted to be online integrated, had co-op missions but when I played the servers were unreliable and I'd constantly crash or get booted out of co-op missions. It had app integration which I hated, I think people thought in the gen transition this was a good idea, so they had app mini-games to unlock chests in the game, stupid. They also had U-play which I usually ignore all that content unless they have something cool, got like 1000 points anyways saved up from various games so not worried about some UPlay content coming out I can't acquire with UPlay achievements. They even screwed up the SP story because they wanted it to feel like an online drop-in experience. Having an SP focused Syndicate I feel that the game might be better focused to being a traditional game, and feel less B-team hopefully. Hopefully though the leveling system is removed, and the idea of leveling is unlocking gear and only that really. And they bring back luring. And make sure controls are solid and not unresponsive, and fix gimped pistols.

Oh well, if it sucks, I can always play Black Flag again. Also haven't played Rogue, heard that was good.

I will save time and not buy the game at all.

Even though the last one Unity,was my favorite, I can't jump into another one just yet. It's too damn soon. Give me 3 years at least.

Not interested in the game, so no problem for me. Still it is a bit sad when I look back and remember the time when this franchise wasn't turned into a cash cow. Liked the first one a lot then superior sequel arrived 2 years later. Ezio trilogy was pretty solid. After that the series went downhill except Black Flag.

I will not be buying the game then. I already made up my mind before this announcement just reinforces my hate as to what this series has become because of Ubisoft.

They need a reboot or take a vacation from this and think what they can do to reinvent this series.

So what? These are the kind of micro transactions people shouldn't complain about... everything you can buy with money you can get without it too and it's a single player game. I have no sympathy for the idiots that spend their money this way and could care less if a company wants to take advantage of that while not completely messing up the in game economy.

Is it better now? I saw a similar deal next to where I live and thought that was cheap.

The original game i purchased last year doesn't count because even tho i played the beta/alpha and knew it'll be disappointing, i would've still bought it because i waited for it since late 2011. And games were 69.99, not the insane 79.99 as it is right now.

better? yes. But does that really mean anything? No. it doesn't mean much because before TTK Destiny was mediocre at best (5/10 shooter for my personal standards). With TTK introduced, i'd rate it a 6.5-7/10. Nowhere near "great" but playable.

How'd you rate it when you first bought it? For what reasons do you think TKK is over-rated, are they the same that Destiny was burnt for at launch?

8/10 for the first two weeks because i played with a lot of friends and coop is always fun with friends. Was hyped as hell for a game i've been waiting for this long and i like Borderlands so grind wasn't and still isn't my main issue with the game. TTK isn't worth anything near the 8+ its been getting because they didn't really give us any new repeatable content, stuff that isn't time gated by a week, challenging, varied and rewarding. You buy the expansion, do the quests (which are better than any previous quests but again, that isn't saying much because original quests were abysmal), enjoy the raid for the first couple of times and then what? The new zone is the smallest (by far) and all there is to it is opening chests with special keys,,, which contains useless blues and that's about it. The new mini horde mode is fun (Court of Crota) but its not something you can log in into the game and enjoy it hours upon in. It gets old quick. When that's done, there's literally nothing left for you to do but what you've been doing since September 2014, one Nightfall per week, 1 raid per week and, yeaaaah that's it. Now there's also the Crucible but its the same old shit, if you liked it at first, why did you leave the game to begin with? Doing strikes is much more rewarding now but the playlist is sooooo dumb. Instead of having all the strikes in a random rotation (there's what, over 12 strikes now?), there's only 5-6 that you can play, the rest aren't on the playlist so get ready of being in the same environment over n over again.

Have zero interest in the game to begin with. But even if I was, I simply wouldn't make any microtransactions. No point in being upset over something that's entirely optional to utilize.

As long as a game can be played without micro transactions I don't care. They won't get money from me for said micros. And I wish no one would buy them. Then they won't create them. Sucks that people do though.........
