I have become the King Lem (:P) and I am in the possession of Cow-Butthurt-Inducing Artifact also known as Halo 5: Guardians which can dramatically alter the course of an ongoing System War. If it falls into too many lemmings' hands, it could obliterate a vast chunk of the so-called 10-Million-Unit Barrier and wreak havoc in Lord Kaz's Keep.

This is the proof of this undisputable fact.

But anyhow, I can talk about game but there are some elements I cannot mention (but even mentioning what I'm not authorized to mention would be a spoiler in itself). I can even capture footage from whole 4 campaign levels (1,2,3,8). The multiplayer for reviewers goes live on Oct. 22

Edit : on a more serious note, how is the sound design and how many guns are there? My biggest complaint with the halo games personally was the guns all felt and sounded pathetic

If they cannot cope, they can finally use a scope! :P

But if @finalstar2007 's obsession with Destiny is anything to go by, I think they could like it, even he himself admitted he'd watch it on YouTube for the story.

Yeah, I did, it's a reviewer's copy and it's a Deluxe Edition by default. I'm not sure if it's bundled with The Fall of Reach animated series, though.

Finally, being a MS shill (just kidding, I have never given any game even a 9/10, even MS exclusives) paid off :P I'm officially now in the Review Program so that means that from now on I'm guaranteed to get reviewer's copies of MS-published games several days or weeks in advance. Previously, I'd just get them a weekend early at most, or sometimes just around the release.

How long is the campaign? I heard it was fairly short.

Halo has and will probably always be borderline horrible.. It's kind of like CoD... I am always hoping the next one will be good and although I tell myself I wont get it, I do, and then wonder why.

Is this game actually fun. This last entry was a borefest.

Isn't it usually a bad sign when review embargoes get lifted a day before release?

I was going to ask the same question. Why is it being lifted so late... Wasn't FM6 lifted a week before launch?

Did a little digging and compared this embargo to Halo 3 and 4 respectively. Halo 3 was release on the 25th of Sept and the embargo lifted on the 23rd. Halo 4 was released Nov 6th and the embargo was lifted on Nov 1st. This is the closest review embargo for the most recent major Halo releases.

Have you played previous Halos?

I ask because when i was watching the first 3 levels on giantbomb, I saw the game used the terrain more in combat than Halo games previously did given how much of the old games were either wide open spaces or corridors. In the first 3 missions a lot of different levels to an area, side paths, cliffs for cover and such, and the enemies tended to use the space a bit as well. And that was on normal, would imagine it plays even better on Heroic in that regard.

So yeah are the first 3 missions indicative of how the rest of the game plays out, or does that type of design get dropped quickly?

@Zero_epyon: They want to protect the story at all costs. But the embargo itself isn't strict. I can talk about game, just not mention a couple of elements related to the story.

Interested in this as well, Halo has traditionally had pretty awful level design.

@jg4xchamp: I've played them all bar Halo 2 and Spartan Assault and completed them all on Legendary bar Halo Wars which I completed on Heroic.

Anyhow, I'm starting the campaign now.

I'm gonna have to wait until the Friday after release, but I have the whole weekend off.

Sounds cool, but I don't think I'd like to be a reviewer though. Takes all the fun out of gaming. Some reviewers have to rush through the best games to make a deadline, where as you really don't want to have to do that, right?

Did they bring back any of the custom multiplayer support?

I'd imagine Salt is locked away in a dark room with Mountain Dew and Hot Pockets right now.

Have you had many jaw dropping moments, moments that blew you away, I'd imagine with myself being in awe of the size and scope, is that happening with you?.

I want to play and I have an xbox one. Not fair. Also is it true @Salt_The_Fries that Halo 5 is about a 60 GB install?

@Salt_The_Fries: without spoiling, how stupid is the ending and story overall. While I liked some of the stuff halo 4 did some of it, especially the ending, was really cheesy and poorly done. The cutscene during mission 2 in halo 5 pretty much makes me think this story is going to be stupid too.

All I can say is that I'm jealous. I think I might go punch myself in the balls to take my mind off this game. The Hype is Real!!!
