Everyone should have this figured out by now. It's pretty obvious that Uncharted 2 should have got it but what they did was not let any ONE game get more than one award.

OMG I solved the puzzle!! :P

I enjoyed Assassin's Creed II more than Uncharted 2. Different people, different preferences. Shocking, I know.

What the problem is, is that it's the peoples vote and we all know how people are when it comes down to this subject. It's like having a NFL team win the Super Bowl over and over, eventually you'll want someone else to win instead just because you're tired of the other team always winning. Even though they deserve every right to win it all, their are plenty of morons out there who feel every one should have a win even though they don't deserve it. I'm sorry, but IMO Batman is way better then Assassins Creed 2 and UC2 beats Batman, so there you have it. There were a ton of great games that should of got nominees and didn't.

I think it's because Assassin's Creed II is a better action-adventure game while Uncharted 2 is a better game in general. Remember, Uncharted 2 has a multiplayer that is not action-adventuring. At the VGAs, there were games that won more than once. That's my two cents, anyways.

Assassin's Creed II's use of action/adventure was wider than Uncharted 2's. While they both did things right, ACII's adventure was more vivid because everything was freeroam while UC2's adventure was more linear.

Exactly. If UC2 was good enough for the GOTY it stands to reason that it's a better game than AC2, so it would surely win the action/adeventure award too. Then again, they always try to mix up the winners to offer a more diverse representation of games - though given how generic most of the nominees were, they need not have bothered.

Exactly! How can UC2 win GOTY, but can't win it's own category action adventure....LOL it's such a joke now a days!

Maybe because they thought AC2 was better at the "action/adventure" thing while Uncharted 2 was a better overall "game"? :?

What did it win overall? Best "PS3" game and Best Graphics,...Come on you can't be serious!? What about other aspects of UC2? Look if it couldn't win it's own category I'm sorry, but then it shouldn't of won GOTY. The category is the main factor of what make that game so great. If AC2 was a much better Action Adventure, which is a huge factor, then UC2 has no right to win in that case.

Did you ever hear of something being "better than the sum of its parts". I'm sorry, but if you want to argue specifics, then let's do so in an intellectual manner. You can't just say Uncharted 2 deserved to clean house because it won GOTY. No offense to anyone with that line of thinking, but it's not a convincing or winning argument. There are many different factors that play a role in deciding a choice for each category. Gamespot believed that AC2 did the "action/adventure" thing slightly better, while Uncharted 2 had a more cohesive package that made it an overall better experience.

??? Why do you think games win GOTY? Because they dominate in their category mainly as well as the basics such as graphics, sound, control, story, and so on and so on. You can believe what you want, but that's the reality of it.....Geezzzzz. I pitty some peoples way of thinking here.

By that logic, U2 should also win best RPG, best racer, best music game, and best multiplayer? Believe it or not, a game CAN lose in its division but win overall. Hell, in the VGAs, MW2 won best shooter, despite losing against UC2 for GOTY

That's not the main factor.

Did you ever think that to the core Action/Adventure, Assassin's Creed 2 is better, but as an overall game, Uncharted 2 is better because it offers more? AC2 is strictly single player, UC2 has the entire package, thus being a better game.

Use logic or get your trolling skills better because at the moment, both are non-existant.

Ok so if you have the entire package you don't win,...Yeah makes a lot of sense there.

..hm let's try to simplify this for you.

Assassin's Creed II - Great Action/Adventure

Uncharted 2 - Good Action/Adventure, Great Multiplayer, Great Co-op

Great > Good, thus the winning of Action/Adventure. Is this better for your simple mind or what?
