I wanna get an action adventure game to fill in the slot of action adventure that is missing in my collection (have none). So which one is better? Let me let you know what I like in an action adventure title:

Realistic, free-flowing melee combat (I know both games have a similar melee comat style)

Batman seems to have a lot of replay with the challenge rooms, but so does ACB. ACB seems like a more worthwhile game to me, with what seems like a world full of interesting things to do and places to explore. AND it has multiplayer.

So what's your advice?

AA is a better game easily. brotherhood might have a bit more replay value due to its multiplayer, but that's it really.

Batman's got the more free flowing combat, but Assassin's Creed 2 is a better game than it, so I'd say go with Brotherhood. Or you could get Arkham Asylum AND Assassin's Creed 2 :P

Difficult choice. I just bought Batman: AA again and it was excellent, especially collecting and completing all Riddler challenges (which results in quite an interesting turn of events for the Riddler. It also offers a pretty good story, and some of the characters are great (naturally).

AC:B also looks good, and looks to give as much replayability as Batman: AA, especially if it takes after both AC1 and AC2.

Tough choice, so i'll go with Batman: AA as that's the only one i've played :P

This is BATMAN we're talking about here. Of course it's the only logical choice. After all, you wouldn't want to get on his bad side, now would you? ;)

I like every AC game, even the first, but Batman is better, its just overall better structured and designed.

Get both. Batman AA can probably be had for 20 or so dollars.

I'd take AC2 or AC:B over AA.

AC:B is basically an expansion pack to Assassins Creed 2.

Arkham Asylum was excellent, but I firmly believe ACII is like the best game this generation, so I'd ask you to go for Brotherhood.

Both are great games so you win either way :D Personally I'd probably favor AC2. I think batman has better combat and is better structured but AC:B is a lot bigger with a bigger world, more stuff to explore, more side quests more events more everything....

I dont know about brotherhood but ac2 is better than aa. Ezio feels like one of the most real characters in a videogame to date, the game is full of brilliant music and settings, gameplay is really good too; I wasnt a big fan of the whole sci fi thing. AA was good too, but it just didnt immerse me as well as AC2, both games stealth was pretty lame.

Maybe I'm saying this right now because I'm playing Brotherhood but ACB > AA > AC2 ACB and AA are very, very close but ACB has multiplayer and AA has crappy challenge mode. If at all possible get both.

yeah I was listening to bombcast and they were talking about the similar streamlined combat in Batman AA, that just got my interest in the game high. I never liked the demo though.

Considering his opponent this time is a master assassin that talks to gods and pwns his enemies with a shiny apple, Batman's got nothing on the competition. AC:B expands on it's predecessor's best points and adds multiplayer to the series, top notch mp at that. Batman AA on the other hand was just boring.

hard to pick... ac:b is just ac2 with multiplayer... which isnt a bad thing...but it wasnt THAT good... Batman AA.. is great with the atmosphere and attention to detail and all that but the combat is pretty repetitive , Square square square *about to be attacked* TRIANGLE!!

I haven't played Brotherhood, but I though Batman AA was a lot better than Assassin's Creed. There's some actual challenge to it's combat unlike Assassin's Creed.

Guaracy-

Batman Arkham Asylum is very overrated. The game is very stale. It's okay but nowhere near great. You'll get annoyed with how basic the story is and the game has little to no replay value. I finished the game in one sitting (12 hours on the PC version - I was that hyped to play it after reading the reviews) with around 180 riddles solved. Some scenes were fantastic (especially the Scarecrow ones) but the game loses steam half way through. I also greatly hated the "Hit the boss three times in weak point to kill him" business.

Do yourself a favour and get the AC games. They are longer and worth every bit of your money.

All the above are purely my OPINION. Don't flame :P

AC: Brotherhood has a buttload of stuff to do. It could take you easily 20 -30 hours to finish everything in the SP. And it has Mulitplayer.

I know it's just your opinion, but I just want to address the replay value thing. I've played through the game 3 times, the Riddler trophies are some of the best collectibles I've see in a game (as in, I actually wanted to get them), plus it has all the challenge rooms. Assassin's Creed (the first one anyway, haven't played 2) is 1 and done, but Batman offered a lot more to players who wanted more out of it IMO. But yeah, it's boss fights were lame, but not nearly as lame as Assassin's Creed's "boss fight" at the end. :P

Thank you for replying in a mature way. I was half expecting "You ar3 tEH LaM3" :P

AC 1 was boring (I forgot to mention) - AC 2 is a whole lot better than AC 1. I played AC 2 for around 22 hours and I did everything there was to do in the game. AC 2 is a great game. The ending left me pissed off because I wanted to know what was going to happen next :)

I need to play ACB but I just don't have the time to play with all this tuitions and entrance coaching crap.

Sigh... I'm waiting for Christmas holdiays...

get batman, ac is pretty good but i'm not even halfway done and it's starting to get a bit tedious.

plus batman's a pretty old game it has to be pretty cheap by now. give ac a few months and wait for the price to go down a bit.

Hey, y'know what else ACB has made me think since i have to say i really like the setting.

here you are some guy in the 16th century and this civilization that existed 15 centuries (1500 years) before you were born makes you look primitive in comparason.

it's made me wonder if they (the real people) knew how far civilization had fallen. these huge buildings and monuments and aquaducts that are in disrepair and nobody has the engineering knowledge to rebuild (at least in rl they didn't).

amazing stuff to think how far civilization can regress and how long it can take to recover.

You decide - an open world game or a mostly linear corridor-based action adventure game. Both are awesome titles, but I think you'll find a lot more stuff to do in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood.

Assassin's Creed for me, all the way. I love that series a lot.

I was never much of a fan of the caped crusader.

I'd take Superman > over Batman anyday.

Batman:AA is a great 7-10 hour game + challenge rooms. AC: brotherhood is a great 20-25 hour game + surprisingly good mp. You cant go wrong with either but I'd go with brotherhood personally.

Very limited upgrades like few combos, more quantity of weapons like Batarangs etc. Batman AA makes a good rental.

Batman is great fun, but it won't last you as long as Brotherhood. ACB has a bigger world, more stuff to do in that world, and you can still be playing the multiplayer years from now.

Go with Batman for sure. It really is a pretty much flawless game.

As much as I like AC, I could never say that about any of the three console versions. All 3 ACs have their issues, from glitches in the games, to what I consider a really stupid controller scheme that doesn't work some of the time, among other things.

Yeah, you're right... ACB has much more replay value, I guess. I'll go with it. I love what I've seen from the combat, it looks like Batman only a little slower and with swords and maces and whatnot. Plus it has MP. Also, the upgrading and stuff really calls out to me. The only thing Batman had to attract me was really only the combat, but AC is a more imaginative game. It's fresh, we don't see a lot of games set in 1400s Italy. The medieval setting, without any fantasy, is just really awesome and we rarely see it. Now I only have to find out which RPG I'm going to get :P

If you are going to get Brotherhood then I highly suggest you try AC/AC2 first or at least AC2 if you didn't play those already.
