It appears that in one year break they fix and reinvented the combat system. its no longer just click, click click.

Lol, they be like, yeah, we need to copy Zelda combat.
It looks more like Dark Souls than Zelda tbh although DS combat was definitely inspired by the first 3D Zelda games.
Anyway, Zelda cant be the only game with this type of combat, dont be envious

Dark Souls got it from Zelda too. You can even roll and smash pots like in Zelda.
Assassins Creed is my guilty pleasure so I'm happy that they're trying to make the combat more in depth.
the team of AC4 black flag are working on it. and that was only good AC game ever so im quite interested in this game.

Are you gonna buy this one ?
I'm probably gonna buy it but not day one.
For one I really dislike the dozen or so different editions and having to have a spreadsheet to know what content each one comes with.

Yeah, this is a good step in the right direction. That old combat got boring.

There are plenty of games you can roll around in, besides if they are trying to improve a game series that was getting stale, it can only be a good thing.
Antway.
Honestly, it looks terrible, the combat is even worse now, at least in the previous games it was something flashy but this is a laughing stock; no satisfying visual feedback, weapons don't have weight, the movement is weirdly fast (as if he's skating) and clunky, enemies are dumb, and the player is OP
And AC is also my guilty pleasure but this is flat out bad.

so combat should be one button click click click instead of putting some depth and challenging? I tried syndicate recently and it was worst AC game ever made. it feel like modern times with one button combat and you cant fall down from building. theres the reason why series took year long break.
Origins looks much better than previous AC game. and has much better setting.
Doesn't matter if the combat is better if the enemy AI is still so idiotic where you can fight 4 guys at once so easily and they just sit around waiting to get slaughtered.
@R4gn4r0k: Yeah, I'll likely buy it. Haven't looked into the game packages yet but it'll most likely be the basic game, if I enjoy it I may consider the season pass.
Yeah ok the special editions don't seem that special.
And usually Ubisoft Season passes really suck, I mean they are some of the worst that can be bought.
So I'll likely buy the base game too. But so many games coming out in the next months, I don't mind waiting a bit :p

Except that there's no depth to it whatsoever.
I'm a fan and want to be excited for this but can't fool myself, it's neither deep nor has any feel to it.

The only AC game I've bought expansions for is AC II, Ezio is the best protagonist in the games (IMO :) ) and the expansion completed his story nicely (even if Ezio killing the pope for being Templar is absurd)
It's definitely going to be in a queue, there are to many great games on the way
Divinity OS II, Total War Warhammer II, Forza 7 and Shadow of War to name a few that are out before AC Origins.

Yeah and on the same day there is Wolfenstein II which I'm terribly excited for !
Do you mean expansions for AC II or do you mean Revelations and Brotherhood, which also expand Ezio's Story line ?
@R4gn4r0k: Yeah, I'm calling Revelations and Brotherhood, ACII expansions as they are a continuation of Ezio's life story. Oddly they made me hate Altair even more than I did while playing Assassin's Creed, he's a complete dickhead ;)
New Order never bit me, so I'm not overly bothered about The New Colossus, I may get it once I've gone through the others. The biggest game for me this year is Total War Warhammer II, even more so once the patch comes out to combine the two campaign maps.

Yeah I'm interested to see how the Warhammer I and II tie-in will work, it sounds really interesting.
Wolfenstein TNO and TOB had some brilliant shooting: the guns felt loud, powerful and deadly.
That's exactly what I want from a first person shooter so I really enjoyed the games.
The next one aims to have even more weapons, more lethal combinations and a brilliant new setting.

but this is not what i want in FPS games nor I want in wolfenstein game that new order does. it was basically call of wolfenstein scripted cinematic game.
I will choose AC origins over new colossus any day.
what i want

What I really hope that there is more than one save file option. Syndicate was missing it. Both me and both my brothers wants to play it. So I really hope for that.
Looks like trash. I'm disappointed that a hardcore PC gamer like Ghost4ever would hype this.
This is The Witcher 3 combat as they said The Witcher 3 is their main inspiration for the game. It looks like every other open world 3rd person action game with tacked on RPG elements.
They should look to Hitman for inspiration instead of awful RPG mechanics that have no place in what should be a stealth action game. I just snuck up from behind and stabbed this, too bad he's a higher level so this spear I stuck through him only takes 20% of his health.

Im not hyping this. Im just saying this look much better than anything previous assassins creed have done.
plus they should not bother with doing stealth since stealth in AC always suck. its too easy. AC games feel like a tutorial where you cant fail.
this one atleast look different.
plus compare this to far cry 5 another ubisoft game. it looks miles better.
Looks awesome, my most anticapated game for the rest of the year for sure. Ubisoft always claim that it's a new take on AC, but this time the footage confirms it too. Overall it seems much more like a proper game with more open mechanics allowing you to actually play and experiment. Such an improvement.

They are back :)

I figure one button combat is all your simple brain can comprehend, so I'm not sure why you're excited for this, sniper.
Oh yay... instead of going proper stealth/Thief ... they've just gone Dark Souls meets batman hack n slash.... no we are no longer even TRYING to avoid combat.
bleh.....

Gaming is a very diverse medium and no series exists in a vacuum. So just about every game is influenced by something that preceded it to some extent or another. I also agree with others that this looks more inspired by Dark Souls.
Either way I'm glad to see an evolution in the combat, plus the Egyptian setting offers a great deal of lore potential, not to mention this is the most colorful and vibrant entry into the series with so many installments.
Not sure what to think if it, got really tired of the AC franchise, but this game looks like it's doing things a lot differently.. It's looking like it might have a lot more RPG elements to it. I might give it a chance but screw buying season passes. I'm through with Ubisoft and their rip off season passes.

Ubisoft season passes are the worst.
Every game of theirs has a deluxe edition, season pass and day one DLC at launch, it's awful.
But yeah I think Ac: Origins is doing a lot of things right to cure the AC fatigue.
It's got a huge open world, that also looks interesting to explore.
The different modes of transportation, from swimming underwater to riding a camel all look pretty neat.
An improved combat system (that they promised with Unity, lmao)
A very interesting setting you don't see a lot in games
And interesting side missions... in a ubisoft game, lmao !
I like that they 'changed' the combat system, but what about some of the other systems? Do you still go around collecting useless crap like floating pages or weird spark anomalies? Are there still 1 billion treasure chests to open that all have nothing of importance in them? How about the uninteresting climbing mechanics? Does stealth still exist?
Until I see that they've addressed at least some of those I won't be buying this.
I really like AC. Only finished the first two but I'd like to start 3 at some point. Not going to bother with the spin offs.
They should have just used For Honor combat. The current combat is an improvement, but it still looks meh.
eh. Looks alright. I guess. the combat from the last games are super easy they also flowed well especially with the counter stuff.

Rolling in combat is the worst.

Waiting for a good stealth game myself..
Hitman 2016.
Best stealth game in ages.

Zelda was always mediocre when it came to combat.
Dark Souls is on a different level.
