Assassin's Creed For PS3 Seeing Lock Ups, "White Screen Of Death"

Irate PlayStation 3 owners are reporting a host of technical problems with their copies of Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed, writing of frame rate problems, screen tearing, geometry clipping and game-stopping lock ups on the official game forums. Most reports from those affected by "white screens of death" are writing that they're using firmware 2.0, specifying so at the request of official Ubisoft forum managers. In addition to a thread dedicated to the PS3's freezing issues, a consolidated bug/glitch thread is currently receiving plenty of responses.

Similar postings have appeared on the official PlayStation 3 and Gamespot forums, with a few Kotaku tipsters warning us of the game's graphical and loading glitches. We're waiting to hear further information from Ubisoft, but would urge caution and research for potential Assassin's Creed buyers.

I have read some complaints but not as widespread as this.

Ive been played the game over 4 one time and not once did my 360 freeze.

yea it stopped on me also, i think ubi needed to polish this game up a bit

i agree with the low scores. the game is far too ambitious, it needed more development if ubisoft wanted to accomplish what they promised with the game. as it is, its a complete letdown.

Well considering this topic I wouldn't try and use the frame rate as a defense cause that's not been proving yet. Only rumors. I'm just joking and having fun anyway. I know that was a low blow to us 360 users but its kind of the truth.I'm not a fanboy of any system and I'll admit to what's true.My DVD drive is making grinding noises. Sounds like a pencil sharpener. I hate to send it off and wait a month or two:|

As far as AC is concerned, i played for almost 4 days straight with a few hour breaks inbetween & not 1 freeze or framerate problem. Sucks for PS3 owners....That's the UBISoft "love" for ya :P

I've had no issues with my 360 version of AC.

As far as the ps3 having the better framerate, IGN stated the ps3 version had severe framerate issues resulting the in the last portion of the game being nearly unplayable.

Where do these random reports come from? I realize you read that somewhere, but Jeez, it's just so random. I have COD4 for both PS3 (friends) and 360 (Friends). I have two copies to play with buds on bothsides of the spectrum.

Assassin's Creed I bought for 360, and it only froze once, but there was no white screen.

Played like 7 hours in 2 days on my 360 and it only froze twice.

Awesome game BTW, the best this generation has to offer in terms of graphics, gameplay and fun.
