good news i guessThis topic is locked from further discussion.
After the new year, when I have some spare cash and time, I will pick up Uncharted and Assassin's Creed. However, ATM, I have too many games and not enough time to play them all.SpruceCaboose
same here, though i think i'll by it before the year is over.
Awesome.
I was dissapointed the first 3/4 hours I played it.
But now... one of the best games I've ever played.
Excellent story, amazing graphics, great fun, and for those who say it's repetitive; kinda true, but it's still up to you for a large part wether it's repetitive or not.
So many things to do in so many different ways.
Can't wait to see more of this IP. :D
Wonderful game. It's not the best thing since sliced bread, and it does get repetetive, but I couldn't put my controller down. I haven't cannonballed a game like that since I played Oblivion for a week nonstop(almost nonstop, I'm just glad I had that week off :P .
[QUOTE="kiwisama"]it's a shame that hyped games like ac sell alot more than less hyped, but better games.
ooh those casuals...
mingo123
AC was never so hyped....well you can say its been underrated by alot of sites....its one of the best game ever
I think that AC was REALLY hyped, prior to the actual reviews coming out. That game has been getting extensive coverage in the mags and online sites for YEARS.

alot of mags gave it excelent reviews also some sites like GS,,,but some didnt like IGN but ign is a joke, ign said it can take up to 5 minutes for the game to load...what a joke, ive completed it and it takes 30 seconds MAX to load
[QUOTE="Tsug_Ze_Wind"]Prince of Persia is not a new IP. Sorry.

you phailed, AC isnt even close to PoP, totally different games with different story, gameplay, music, characters, graphics, and different name
Yeah but both games include the ability to jump.
You = pwned.

Of course all of the bolded is different. I'd expect that from a sequel. But let's face it, sticking the PoP name on AC would not be a stretch at all.

No it's not at the end of the third game you find out your actually the Prince of Persa, who is trying to take back his crown though historical manipulation.
(I just made this up... and have no idea what im talking about)

Do you know the "twist" for Assassin's Creed? It's nothing like POP.And AC is an open ended free-roam game, not linear like POP.The point of AC is stealth assassinations. And POP is just an all out action/platforming game.

How so? Certainly not solely on the clumsy and unnecessary sci-fi element. And aside from that,I seea more open PoP.
I don't remember assassinating people, in various ways, in PoP. I don't remember being able to climb on nearly everything in PoP. I don't remember PoP allowing you to be creative. I don't remember seas of characters in PoP. I don't remember gathering intel in PoP. The developers took what they learned from the PoP games, and applied to AC. There's nothing wrong with that. How so? Certainly not solely on the clumsy and unnecessary sci-fi element. And aside from that,I seea more open PoP.

Perhaps if you want a game similar to PoP. But then, you would have to acknowledge that it is, in fact, similar. Thus, putting the PoP name on it would not be a stretch.
All of those differences could just as easily be sold as improvements to the PoP formula.

*SPOILERS* Unnecessary sci-fi element? It's the basis for the game imo.The way that AC ended it seems like Assassin's Creed 2 and 3 might not even take place in the past. The sci-fi was not used as a random twist,it makes the story.AC would not be complete with out it *SPOILERS*
POP is not a stealth game for one.PoP also has much More of a fantasy story. While other than the twist, AC is very realistic.AC is also a free roam game and you can climb anything. In POP you can only climb a set path.AC has much greater parkour elements that lets you climb, jump, and run trough everything. And realistic combat.
Does Uncharted also follow a PoP formula, but with the addition of gunplay?Perhaps if you want a game similar to PoP. But then, you would have to acknowledge that it is, in fact, similar. Thus, putting the PoP name on it would not be a stretch.

I still see the sci-fi element as a shoehorned-in story difference to seperate from PoP. They may have built the story around it, but that doesn't change that it seems out of place in the first place.
No,because it is nothing like PoP.
The only similarity is the s.tyle of the game, the whole setting and story are very different.Sgt_Crow
The styl.e of the game means quite a lot.
Sorry for the double post but how is AC similar to POP? Other than the fact that Pop has some parkour elements through a set path while AC is more of a parkour simulator. What is is somewhat similar?BatmanBegins24
That similarity alone goes a long way. If the feel of the gameis similar, that's enough to draw comparisons.
Does Uncharted also follow a PoP formula, but with the addition of gunplay?musicalmac
No. Haven't you heard, Uncharted obviously follows a Tomb Raider/Gears of Warformula. :P
