Its not a "game you're going to remember for al ong time" -Gamespot, but its definitely a good game. Albeit most of the playtime lays in collecting those flags and killing templar, overall its pretty good. More of a rent than a purchase.

Idk, i would tell you to get it on the 360 but i feel that the playstation controller is better for third person games... imo. Otherwise they are both probably exactly the same. Full of bugs as well ;) (though they don't interrupt too much)

Well, I'd rather get it on the PS3 because I prefer the controller anyway and I enjoy using my PS3 in general. That said, I like achievements for what they add to games, and apparently it look a bit better on the 360 too. I can't decide.

From what I have seen/heard achievements really don't add much, but it gives you an incentive to get the flags/kill the templars. I also heard that there were more glitches on the PS3 version, all I have seen on the 360 version are the occasional freezes and cramping fingers after 5 hours of play lol

It was alright.

The visuals are great, the gameplay is a little repetitive. I loved the combat system, once I got the hang of it. The story was kind of disjointed, maybe the next couple of games will explain more. The assassinations where fairly easy, and the info you gain isn't really needed. The begining of the game is very slow, but it does get better the more you play. Oh yeah, and you gotta love the horses.

That's my opinion on it.

Lol the graphics are average at best when compared to games like Gears, Bioshock, or COD4. And the game gets very repetitive

Climb to the southwest high point in Acre, or the far east one in the same city (the one in the water) and return claiming that Assassin's Creed is anything short of breathtaking. I've been playing it on my 57", and it's a beautiful game in it's bleak, blighted-medival way. For some reason, it's been the console game that has most impressed me this generation.

i loved the story it made perfect sense if you ask me. and the it has to do with real world. turning water in to wine is just a illusion used to fool people in to feeling safe. that was deep the ending was kind of weird though

Gears and Bioshock cant pull of what Assassins Creed does: Hundereds of Characters on Screen in a entire city.

Gears and Bioshock just have, at most, maybe 5-6 NPCS on screen in one room or a small courtyard.

Look at the draw distance between the games, Assassins Creed is much more impressive Graphic wise.

I disagree. I rented it last night and apart from the graphics the game is very flawed imo.

The combat like others stated is very repetitive, and in the end mostly comes down too a chuck norris movie, 8 people around you one attacks, you counter and kill, 2nd guy attacks and you counter and kill repeat... over and over..

and why cant me or my horse walk past a guard when hes watching you without it causing them to freak out??? no i must "sneak" yes watch my 500 pound horse slowly walk away, yeah that makes me invisible!

And the stupid flags? heres a spoiler... they dont do anything aside from the fact that when you find them all in a certain area you get 10 achivement points... nothing else... bravo... Getting more information? no point! you dont get anything for completing all of the info quests other then waisting your own time.

Its pretty, thats about it imo thank goodness i rented this game otherwise I would be very ticked.

Its good, but not great. More disappointing than anything else. AC had the potential to be one of the best games period, but instead of tapping that potential Ubi decided to put in a bunch of repetitive sub-missions. For example the eavesdropping missions, which consist of a) sit on a bench b) press the "Y" button (360 version) c) press the "A" button. And thats far more exciting sounding than eavesdropping missions are.

My my... you haven't even finished the game, you get more moves when you go throughout the game. Once you get past the 5th assassination the other guards will power slam you immediately after you counter one guy, and most of the counters don't kill them unless they are really low on health they will just "push" the guard away.

I agree most of the missions are quite shallow, but so were the missions in GTA/Crackdown/Saints Row Kinda the nature of the sandbox genre...

Granted I have only killed my 3rd target so far (i believe im on chapter 4)

so the combat may get better but i dont see many of the other issues being rectified. Ill give it another shot hopefully I will be surprised.

I disagree GTA (and to a lesser extent Saint's Row) had excellent mission designs. Sure there would be the standard "drive person x to area y" but Rockstar puts in enough wrinkles to keep things interesting. With Assassin's Creed other than the actual assassinations every chapter plays the exact same.

I thought it was pretty fun myself.

Too bad it has absolutely no replay value and no reward for collecting all the flags or killing all the templars.

Combat could have been a lot better. Really just was about timing your attacks and counter-attacking. Missions could have been more unique and different from each other rather than just the same three things over and over.

Bottom line is, great world, atmosphere and visuals, but not enough content or complex enough combat.

Yeah, I tried to play it again.. went to the mission where you go back to domascus or jeruselum ect... and i had to gather more "information" i thought " good! I already completed all of the info quests so i should be good!" WRONG.... new part of the city opens and it is just a repeat of the last... but wait i get to collect more flags within a time limit so i can get info from that npc! ... :(

Im sorry i gave it another shot and after 1 more hour of playing i actually decided to play wind waker again.. it may not be as adult but atleast its fun imo.
