Assassin's Creed is not the best franchise.

I hate its setting.

I hate the fact that Ubisoft promised much but didn't deliver them all.

It sold a lot across various platforms, but it's not AAA to me.

If you were hoping to get more extreme opinions over this game then I think you are in the wrong place. :P That being said I really enjoy AC2 but it definetly feels like it could use more depth. Getting around the cities are easy, almost TOO easy. It would be nice if there was more fleshed out stealth mechanics as well as incentive to play different ways.

I'm glad that you've found out about that... seems like you were the last one to do it, since I haven't seen anyone else saying something about AC being "best"

It does not have to be the best to be amazing.

They aren't the best, but they're fun. AC2 was my second favorite game of 09.enterawesome

A game should get a minus 5 marks on GS score if it is not replay-able.

So for me, every AC is 4/10.

Well I disagree, and think AC2 is the best multiplaform games to come out this gen. Of the ones I played that is.

Congrats, you have an opinion. Some people will love a given game, while others will despise it. This is totally blog worthy, by the way, lol.

My expectations have always been high for the series but they always don't quite make my expectations. The sword fighting is lame, the game is too easy, there is hardly any stealth, and the three games in the series have been too similar. For assassins creed 3, I want a bioshock infinite kind of upgrade.

erm... what? replayability isn't everything, you know. And Brotherhood will be the most replayable of the lot, since it has multiplayer. I am not saying that it is the best, but I honestly really love the setting, characters, and mind-bending plot. I actually prefer it it to Reach or UC2. :)

i personally loved the 2nd one couldnt care for the first still like playing it from time to time cause its cities are pretty expansive and fun to explore...altho its not the best franchise ever its in my top 10 now after i played the 2nd.

I really like the concept, and the setting, and the story, but much like many Ubisoft games... The series is incredible boring and repetitive. How do these games get AAA ? I honestly don't get it sometimes. They are just so bland.

hey guys i dont know if anybody mentioned this to the tc, but i dont think anybody tried to claim ac was the best franchise, just thought i would add another thought-provking and intelligent contribution to the thread

I don't think I ever heard anyone claim it's the best, but okay.

I'm currently playing AC1. I'm in Damascus, and gameplay-wise, I find this game to be barely passable so far. Combat is extremely shallow, controls are a mess, and themenus have been very, very poorly optimised for PC. All in all it seems like a sloppy port of a game that isn't all that great to begin with. But of course this impression might still change.

i think AC is a great series and i loved AC2 sure it wasn't the best but is was one of my favourites games of 09, and i don't care what anyone thinks about the game and neither should you, you play a game because you think its good. So stop listening to people and their reviews there just peoples opinion.

The first AC is an acquired taste that gave us hints of what it could be. AC2 delivered on that and gave us much more to do. AC2 wound up being one of my favorite games this gen so far.

I wouldn't put AC in my top ten franchises but I'd still put it ahead of Bioshock. But that's just me.
