As the title says, are people still hyped for this game, or what? I haven't seen any topics about this game for ages, so I thought it might be worth seeing if people still care about it.
*I'd add a poll, but Level 2's can't. :(

cows stopped hyping it ever since it they lost it to 360gamergeekgeek
I can remember that - this used to be a fairly hyped game for the PS3, and then it was announced for the 360 and the hype just sorta died off...
I am looking forward to it. There isn't much know about the game though. Right now I know there are 3 major cities and Jade Raymond says about 40 hours of gameplay. I'm more interesting in the RPG elements in the game(if any) and how diverse the items are.
The game reminds me a lot of Crackdown. The only objectives in the game are to assassinate targets, like in Crackdown. There are side missions, but we will see how pivotal those are.
Alot of people were really looking forward to it... but the reason it was getting so much press b4 is because of the uncertain exclusivity of the game.... after it was confirmed coming to the 360, Cows jumped off that band-wagon and focused on something else..... I mean why hype a game if its not exclusive, right? fanboys!
But for me, its just a wait and see game, certain aspects of the game are impressive, but I've never been overly excited for this title. There are many ways this title could easily be messed up and end up being one of those games that had a great concept for a game, but wasn't executed well.
i'm still hyped for this game and according to jade raymond, the game will have over 40 hours of gameplay. (check out the lastest game developers diary: the art direction video.)latinrage69
Yeah I saw that vid. Got me interested in it even more.
Oh god yes! Give it me now!
Its more the setting which interests me over anything else, the crusades are just such an important part of history i love to see games embrace such things.
My only worry is all news on the PC version has gone dead, but maybe E3 will bring me hope.

I'm kinda worried the PC version won't control well, seems to be an issue with PC/console multiplats...don't really want to buy a PS3 just for this game, ya know?
I got sick of all the "Jade Raymond is hot!" comments, so I stopped caring about whatever hype it had.
I also read a couple of comments by the devs saying how the game was going to emphasize that were like zombies to religion back then, which is so off base that I really don't feel like putting up with it as a story. I hear enough Christian-bashing in public school thank you very much.

I know what your saying, to work on M/KB the game would need some tweaking and possible changes but with being able to customise keys/controls iam sure it will be workable. But iam not worried about that as i bought a 360 controller for my PC.
Iam more worried about that UBIsoft may have simply cancelled/delayed the PC version, as no mention of it has been made for a very long time.

This is exactly what I'm talking about: People who think the Crusades was about religion when it was actually about territory absorption by the Turks.
The only thing the actual war had to do with religion was the fact that Pope Urban II petitioned the war and declared a Plenary Indulgence for anyone who fought it (seeing as how Europe was the Christian capitol at that point). Arab Muslims and Christians were getting along fine and sharing Jerusalem in peace for years before the Seljuq Turks siezed it and threatened the Byzantine emperor Alexios who, in turn, appealed to Urban II in regards to their invasion of all of Asia Minor.
So you see, religion was a foot-note to the war, not the cause.

Religion was the principal motivation for most Europeans involved in the crusades. Other than the templars nobody much was making money off of it. The principal cause wasn't expansion by the Turks it was to give the violence in Europe between Chrisitians a different outlet.
Hu--buh--buh Wah?
Violence between Christians in Europe? Are you referring to the People's Crusade? If so, that happened almost a full century before the Turks took Jerusalem.
If not, then please to note that whatever religion was brought onto the battlefield was done so by soldiers and not the people who actually endorsed the war. Even if the engagements were fought with zealous motivation by certain elements in the military that doesn't mean religion motivated the ones who organized the war. Europe was being genuinely threatened by the MiddleEastern forces; said forces just so happened to be Muslim. Even if they weren't, the Pope still would have issued a Plenary Indulgence to soldiers since, as I said, Europe was the capitol of Christianity at the time.
The Knights Templar are apart of the certain elements I speak of. A notable chapter of the Crusades' history, but not absolutely indicative of an intent to hussle Christianity. It's more accurate to say that the European governments used their feared and renowned zealotry to give them an edge.
Yeah for sure, definitely interested to see what Ubi come up with.
My excitement for it has gone down mainly cause of other bigger games I'm looking forward to releasing around that time (GTAIV, Haze, Uncharted).

That's true, religion is hardly ever the sole cause of wars, just a convienient catalyst people and nation states use to push things over the edge and incite their peoples. Religion only really facilitates deeper motives at play.
As for the topic, yes people are still looking forward to Assasin's Creed, but I imagine it gets less mentioned since it's a multiplat, making it harder to flaunt it over others.
It looks great, but I have concerns about the story. Splinter Cell 5 is also using the same engine. Since this is System Wars, I'm looking forward to the superior AI on 360 as Jade Raymond had stated. (http://pc.ign.com/articles/736/736396p1.html)
I thought they said recently as in not 10 months ago, that the ai was the same and that the only difference was textures on one version, and ai on the other..?
Assassins Creed looks amazing and I cant wait to play it the story sounds awesome and when Ubisofts producer for this game is
Jade Raymond

The Crusades went on for hundreds of years, that was part of the Crusades and in fact the earliest part so its not inaccurate to say the Crusades (or as they called it, "Taking the Cross") were started originally to redirect all the violence in Europe elsewhere. Also I believe you have your time frames slightly mixed up as the First Crusade occured after the Muslim taking of Jerusalem.

Sure, if that hadn't been you know..debunked already.
The issue is the lack of new information about the game. Once theres some additional information I might become interested again, as is all you can find is from time to time a couple of new screens.Runningflame570I agree, all I've been seeing are short vid's here and there that have Jade Raymond talking about stuff that doesn't really get me all riled up TOO much. And bless Ubisoft, they understand having Jade just planted in front of a camera is probably going to raise their sales.
