well ps3 has a tad bit better framerate ... but more jaggies ... at least from what i hear.humber_matusIGN said the opposite, they said that the framerate was almost unplayable on PS3 in the later levels. Who knows. I think I'll get the PS3 version just so I have a reason to play it.
IGN:
These big open worlds, which are fully interactive, do come at a severe cost on PS3. There is considerable texture pop-in and noticeable framerate issues. Playing back-to-back with the 360 version, it's obvious that Ubisoft did not devote enough resources to the PS3 edition. The framerate is considerably worse, so much so that it begins to affect gameplay in the later levels. You can get through the first two-thirds of Assassin with the framerate being just an annoyance, but it becomes more of an issue for the final third of the missions.

Which is kind of funny because I haven't seen any other reviewer state that.

Gamespot:
There are few differences between the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions. PS3 owners are blessed with a slightly more solid frame rate, although the 360 version features a little more contrast in the lighting, so it's pretty much a wash. But regardless of which platform you go with, you'll have an amazing and unforgettable game. Assassin's Creed is the kind of game you tell your friends about, and one that should be in your collection.

So one site is telling us the framerate is better on the 360, the other is telling us it's better on the PS3. So the 360 one way or the other has better graphics. So I guess it's a toss up. Chances are people should wait to see what each one averages on metacritic. From IGN -
These big open worlds, which are fully interactive, do come at a cost. There is considerable texture pop-in and, on PS3, considerable framerate issues. Seeing the two versions side by side, there is no question that the PS3 version runs more poorly than the 360. This is most noticeable in the latter stages of Assassin's Creed. Unfortunately, it does eventually begin to affect gameplay.
Get the 360 version or rent it as the reviewer recommends

Would you say that R & C is AAA? Since you go by IGN and not GameSpot?
[QUOTE="GARRYTH"]are you being sarcastic or ignorant?now all of sudden lemmings are using a differant site. remember this is sw at gamespot so yes the ps 3 has better frame rate.

This happened a lot when R&C scored higher on IGN and lemmings where only using GS as the main review base and now all of a sudden they prefer IGN review over GS. Awesome!!!

Ps3 version has a smoother framerate than the 360 version so im going with that one. PS3 needs some love too so it will all help :)

We're not scoring games we're talking about which one to buy. Turn your fanboy off for a minute. He asked which one to buy and we're giving him all of the information. Just because all of you go buy gamespots scores doesn't mean people on here aren't allowed to read multiple reviews before purchasing a game.[QUOTE="Huff"][QUOTE="GARRYTH"]are you being sarcastic or ignorant?now all of sudden lemmings are using a differant site. remember this is sw at gamespot so yes the ps 3 has better frame rate.

Gamespot reviews are what count on here, because reviews are subjective and we need a standard to which discussions can be based around. But on more objective matters such as framerate Gamespot is not the ultimate truth. With sites disagreeing over which has the better framerate I think it isonly fair to wait to see which is proven correct. From what you said if Gamespot announced the World was going to end tomorrow you would believe them.

regardless, if you owned a 360 and a PS3 can you really ignore what IGN said? if I'm going to pay 60 bucks for a game, I'm not gonna take a chance on the PS3 version.
IGN said its bad on the PS3(later levels), Gamespot said the difference between the two is a wash, and with that said, I'll go with the 360 version, plus Achievements help as well, you probably don't care and I respect that, but having achievements is another option to think about.
if you only own one system, then this is irrelevant...

I assume that english is your second language. The post that I quoted talked about the GS review. Why would I restate that? I just said that IGN's review said the opposite. Then I said I think I'll get the PS3 version. Why do you think I'm pushing the IGN review?I will be getting it for 360. I own both the 360 and PS3. I get all multiplats of the 360 because they are usually better and I get rumble plus achievements.
IGN said the framerate was horrible in later levels on the PS3 but fine at the beginning. GS said it was a wash. MAYBEGS did not play the game all the way through!
Looking at the reviews from various websites they seem to disagree on which is the superior version. Based on that I'd assume it's too smaller difference to be worrying about. With that in mind my advice would be to buy it for which ever console has the controller you are most comfortable with.deviates1080
