They did it even on PC so yeah the CPU is not the problem and lowering the resolution will free GPU resources not CPU ones,if the CPU can't handle the AI and other stuff in 1080p it would have the same problems in 900p because those routines stay the same unless you draw less people,lower AI,or lower your CPU usage it will still be the same.

Holy shit, this is amazing as ****. Ubisoft actually had the balls to come out and say 'we don't want to piss off Microsoft, so we held back the PS4 version to match the inferior Xbone.' Ell oh fucking ell.

I don't know if I want to get the game anymore. I mean, I want it, I really want to play it, but I don't want to support a game maker that forgets the all important 'GAMES' part.

Yep you are right if the PS4 had to use GpGPU it would probably tax the GPU,the problem is that if the PS4 used lets say 2 CU for compute that still leave 16 CU for rendering and 16 CU still >>>> 12 CU inside the xbox one.

Not only that since the CPU are the same that would imply that the xbox one would also need 2 GPU CU from its GPU to match the PS4 GpGPU performance.

This is simple the xbox one has 12CU and a 8 core jaguar,the PS4 has 18 CU and a 8 core jaguar.

The only CPU benchmark we have give actually the edge to the PS4,even that the xbox one CPU is 1.75mhz and the PS4 1.6,i think HSC and GDDR5 are the reason for that.

So parting from the point that both CPU are alike and that if the PS4 CPU could not cut it,the xbox one would cut it even less,if the PS4 used GpGPU that would also mean the xbox one need it GpGPU,so that would still mean a gap in favor of the PS4 10 CU vs 16 CU.

For example running physics on the GPU would take a fraction of the power it would take CPU and would be faster,so using GpGPU for compute is a good one,problem is the xbox one also need the same GpGPU to pull those same resource,not only that the PS4 was better customize to handle GpGPU than the xbox one was volatile bit 8 aces 64 commands,the end result would still be the same or even worse.

The jaguar is the same architecture. which means you dealing cpu core performance equivalent to 2006 era processors. And low API does not allow those weak cpu's become stonger, All the low level API does is that they are able save the cpu cycles needed to do the job allowing more processing resources to go to other tasks. you seriously that blind? in understanding how weak these cpu's are especially because they are around 1.6 ghz. Now imagine a 6 core Athlon 64 K8 at 1.6 ghz and you should get the point.

all these new games are being limited to 30 fps for a reason... These cpu's at 1.6 ghz are bottlenecking the gpu's in games that require more cpu power. They really need to get gpgpu tasks going.

Why are you bringing up watchdogs? its a game that was meant for last gen, that ended up being mess them adding and taking out crap to it, a frankenstein of bad coding.

Actually No lowering resolution actually increases cpu load not lowering it since it takes less cpu resources in feeding the gpu which allows the other tasks get to use more cpu resources to do their tasks. So the strain is then transferred to the CPU, at a lower resolution, the fps is limited to the CPU's speed.

Both the PS4 and X1 suffer from fps drops when alot of action going on.... saying the PS4 cpu is the reason why its runs better is so fanboyish of you.... O it couldn't be because the gpu in PS4 is more then 30% faster. Both the PS4 and X1 have the same type of cpu your not going to get that type of a gain.... its coming from the faster gpu...

Funny isn't it.? He used a game that is 792p on xbox one and is not even lock 60FPS because Respawn wanted so bad to make CBOAT look bad that they gave up frames in order to hike the resolution 92p..

Is clear the game at 720p would have probably be close to be a lock 60 but the pressure was so big that they give in and that pressure i know came from MS..lol

When the GPGPU kick into place? Now you sound like the Lemmings talking about their secret sauce DX12. You can't knock people for making those comments and then make them yourself.

And yes the Consoles CPU's may be enough to get out of the way of the GPU's, but they will never be strong enough to run A.I. intensive games at 60 fps. The PS4 should be 1080p at all times though. I'm not sure why it's missed the mark a few times now. Maybe Ubisoft needs to rework the AC engine. But the A.I. is controlling dozens, if not hundreds of NPC's at one time in the new AC title. The crowds in AC are not as "simple" as the ones we have seen in games such as Infamous. Ubisoft is trying to create a living world in their game and that takes some real processing power.

I think we can all agree that after Watch Dogs and now this, Ubisoft is in someone's pockets. (M$)

I'll enjoy the game at 1080p/60FPS while consolites fight over that 900p/30FPS mess.

But really consolites, you bought a cheap as hell plastic box and now you're crying that your games look cheap as hell. The consoles will always be the lowest denominator.

we are crying because of parity, which is different. If a console can do slightly better then let it do slightly better. Where was parity early last gen when the PS3 was under-performing? Sony most likely didn't have deep enough pockets to pay for it.

Holy shit, this is amazing as ****. Ubisoft actually had the balls to come out and say 'we don't want to piss off Microsoft, so we held back the PS4 version to match the inferior Xbone.' Ell oh fucking ell.

I don't know if I want to get the game anymore. I mean, I want it, I really want to play it, but I don't want to support a game maker that forgets the all important 'GAMES' part.

Its all about that advertising contract.

How is MS causing it? Both consoles are cpu bound, ubi just kept the resolution the same not to give neither side gloating power....

That is just sad. Sad not because lolps4runningin900p but because Ubisoft is the laughing stock for all platforms. For pc they release the worst ports there is. For wiiu they think its better to ignore any games that isn't rate E. For ps4 it looks like they can't even make simplistic ass creed game run in 1080p. On xbone everything goes alright because 900p and below is the standard of the console. On ps360 they bitched n moaned they wanted new tech and when new tech is available they can't seem to run their games in 1080p when games like infamous ss can AND look better

The PS4 is clearly a more powerful system, so I cannot see why there would be parity. If they upgrade the PS4 to 1080p via a patch then I think that is confirmation that some shady practices are going down.

Definitely sounds like forced parity to me. The 30fps on both machines is all fair, but the PS4 would likely be able to push 1080p with everything else remaining constant with no problems.

Nice one mat, i think that debunks the theory that Money changed hands between Microsoft and Ubisoft to Gimp the Ps4 version but it also debunks what the Dev said about deliberatly gimping the Ps4 version.
