Yes if one thing has to be said in Creed's favor its the art. The game looks so distinctive from other titles and really no developer has emulated that art direction.
However, the game was amazingly repetitious, lack of variety, and the AI was easily manipulative. Sticking through the whole game was worth it though: The final or so hour of narrative was fantastic and makes me want the second one immediately.
But yeah, within the replies in this thread you'll see repetition cited as the reason for hate.
I just picked up this game yesterday (30 euro's brand new FTW), I just got into the first real city and Im already feeling the reptitivness of the game. Bad AI, I walked up to a guy, threw him off a cliff and was still able to perform an "assasination" move on the guy standing next to the first one, because it took so long for the second guy to react.
Im still probably going to enjoy the heck out of this game, but Im not expecting anything big out of it. I knew about the flaws before I bought it, thats why I waited so long before picking it up. I wish I had done the same thing with Bioshock.
I'm getting so close to beating this game. I have to play it for 1 or 2 assassinations before I get too bored, then I come back to it weeks or months later and do a few more. I think I'm actually on the last one but I'll get around to it sometime.
The game is extremely repetitivefelixlynch777
Because it's so boring and repetitive. The games presentation is awesome but it's so repetitive.freshfighter83

Irony. It's the stuff of life.
I liked the game a lot, but it had it's problems.
The repetitiveness was a minor issue compared to the crappy AI later in the game.
[QUOTE="Floppy_Jim"]Assassin's Creed is very repetitive and it's quite repetitive. Also, the game is very repetitive, so I'd say it's rather repetitive.EuroMafiaRepetitive and slow is a bad combo.
And I thought the controls were awkward too. On the 360 version anyway, I just found them so damn clunky.
hopefully the sequel will deliver on all those promises.....
and hopefully they set it in a new timeline the medeival thing didnt cut it for me

Controls were alright, but there weren't enough consequences (if any) when free running and climbing buildings.Fantastic idea, equally great mechanics
BUT
Terrible execution
I have a lot of confidence the next one will be awesome
