At this point, 360 again or PS3?

Okay, here's the deal. Until last year I had a 360, loved it until it broke twice in about a month. Sold all the 360 stuff I had for a PS3 because it supposedly had more reliable hardware. My PS3 just died for the second time since november. I an either

  • Sell some games and get a refurb with another 90 day warranty that'll probably break
  • Can basically sell all my games and get a new PS3 40 gb model with a 2 year warranty from Best Buy
  • Can sell all my PS3 stuff, inluding the refurbished console, and get another 360 with a few games, XBL subscription and the accessories I need.

What should I do? I think the PS3 is far superior, has better features, and better exclusives, but Msoft has better, faster online, and when the consoles break, they don't **** you over, and you get a fresh warranty with your new console.

What should I do???

So let me get this straight. Your only looking at the Xbox 360 because of better and faster online? Easy choice then.

I went back and forth on this for months. i had both for a bit. I chose the 360. IT's better to me and I don't regret it. But everyone is different. It sounds to me like you are leaning towards ps3 so I would probably go that way.

My opinion was I was kind of disapointed with the ps3 to be honest though. Once all these exclusives actually come out that might be different but in the meantime i'll be enjoying all the games coming out for the 360. I dont think the ps3 has better exclusives right now. That's the thing. MS's announcements this E3 pretty much put the nail in the coffin for the ps3 for me for at least another year. The only advantage it really has is free online although its not better. That's my opinion though..

keep the ps3 out in the open. for god's sake, putting consoles in litle cupboards KILLS THEM! so do blankets, and covering up those noisy holes on the side, and leaving them on in little cupboards with blankets covering the little noisy holes on the side. you shouldn't buy another console, you clearly kill them with a sledgehammer.

Mine is broken right now too. Go to youtube and you can find out how to fix it. I have fixed mine twice now; My "reflow" is only holding up for like 4 or 5 days though.

I had my ps3 out in the open with more than ample space on all sides, and it still stopped reading discs. It happens, most of the time through no fault of the owner.

It was still under warranty for like another week, though, so Sony fixed it for free, and gave me a 3 month warranty when they sent it back. But that expired a long time ago, so if it breaks again I'm screwed.

I'm leaning towards 360 because of the 3 year warranty, I won't need to pay 150 for a console that I already paid 440 for, the online is better, and while it doesn't have the insane amount of exclusives that PS3 has, it still has a lot of great games coming out. I'm looking at this from a monetary position, basically.

That stinks, dude. I remember when you switched to PS3. I've had both consoles break on me multiple times. RROD's with 360 and DRE's with PS3. It blows.

Just get the console you enjoyed the most during the time you had it, because no matter which one you go for, it'll most likely suffer the same fate,

Man, I think you should investigate the area that you store your consoles in. At this point, you've broken 4 consoles from two different manufacturers. You're doing something wrong. Anyways, you say that the PS3 has more features and all the games you want. Seems like an open and shut case to me.

Are you Planning on getting an arcade? That's $200. Need a HD? That's $100. XBL? $50 per year. Battery pack controller charger? At least $20. 360 is lovely.I just picked up an arcade myself. But as a "side" console. No way am I paying $100 for a 60 gb HD and $50 per year for online gaming. Plus the PS3 is so hot right now. Fix the thing and when you get it back give it some air to breathe.

The area is well ventilated, cool, and dust free. I also treated both consoles with the utmost care. The PS3 has a few more huge exclusives than the 360, but the 360 has the better online as well as a 3 year warranty. I'm not ecstatic about paying 161 to Sony again. If they had some sort of extended warranty for refurbished consoles, then I would gladly buy one, but at this point it's about something that I can play the games on (most are multiplat anyway now) and not have to shell out a bunh of money to get it repaired.......

LOL wut How did microsoft put a nail into sonys coffin, sony showed off uncharted 2, MAG (omg epic), and some Interactive go kart game that resembles mario kart with the creativeness of little big planet and not to mention God of war 3, there motion control would allow you to do so much more than what a camera will as far as gameplay is involved. I plan to get a PS3 after deciding which one I wanted and Sony's E3 blew me away.

Um, even the new ones with the upgraded cooling still fail. Hardware failures from 360's are around 10-12% with rumors as high as 30% with some of the older models.

Most I have heard from ps3's were around 2-3%

You would have had both if you would have let MS fix your system for free and just got a PS3 as well. BTW, with a PS3 breaking on you twice and a 360 breaking twice in a year combined, you really need to get Best Buy warranties or something, since that is not normal.
