At what point can we officially determine that the PS3 is a SALES FLOP?

I've already come to this conclusion myself... because I can't really envision any scenario where the PS3 will storm back and win this generation. It will always be more expensive than the competition, and it just doesn't have the library to compete with the 360, nor does it have the commercial/casual/non-gamer appeal or positive word of mouth to ever compete with the Wii... but for the benifit of Cows who hope against hope for a miracle to save the PS3, we should give it a little more time before we pass our final judgement.

So... when the dust has settled after next Christmas, and the PS3 is a distant third in sales to the 360 and Wii once more, is it offically time to proclaim its sales flop status?

It's absurd to think that any console can come back from losing badly during its first two chistmas seasons on the market.

Wow time warp, it's 2008 already? And the PS3 didn't sell good thru anotherchristmas again, wow man I must have been really high, because i don't rememmber any of that.

The PS3 is not a flop, and will not flop, there will be just to meny good games coming out for it, and with a price drop it will do fine. Oh and BTW who gives a **** who comes in first, and long as the PS3 and Xbox 360 put out good games, ill say it again who gives a crap about who wins.

Anyone who thinks MGS4 will save the PS3 is misinformed. Replace it with GT5.

Also, I say you have to wait until at leats mid 2008 before making this conclusion.

1. When it can't outsell the 360 or Wii in the U.S
2. When it gets outsold by at least 2:1 by Wii in Japan
3. When a last gen handheld like the GBA outsells the PS3
4. When the Wii a Nintendo console has more 3rd Party million sellers
5. When its in dead last.
6. When it can't outsell a kiddy system like the Wii.

I don't know. If you were to pick a date, I'd probably say summer of 2009.

Until then at least, all these PS3 IS A FLOP threads are useless and speculative.

I used to think it'd only sell around 60-70 million but I keep raising that number, lowering the 360 number and raising the Wii number.

Can't really be sure anyway for a while.
