All of you sheep, guess what? Tshbo. You know why? Because Nintnedo couldn't care less about you and your loyaty to them. They are now switching over to casual gaming so they can make a quick buck and completely ignore a nice chunk of their audience. Wiis are impossible to find because Nintendo just wants to make demand so that they can get lots of money. Sorry Nintedo, but if I have to wait 2-3 months just to get a game console then something is up. They won't make an external hard drive for the Wii because they want people to buy SD cards and use as little money as possible. Yes, you can argue that there have been a ton of sales for the Wii, but that doesn't matter because nobody is barely making money except for Nintendo, because no one is buying third-party games! Even good games like Zack and Wiki are overlooked because everyone is just playing Wii Sports! Now all Nintendo has done is make sure that they only get money and no one else does. The online is a piece of junk, all Nintendo has done is make sure that you have as little fun as possible by making you 'safe'. Yes, just what I need. Security. The games look like nearly total garbage, and the only reason I haven't sold it yet is because of Brawl. And that's it. So, Nintendo, thanks. Thanks for screwing me over. Also, my Wii is collecting dust right now. Why? Because there are no good games! That's why!
Now, sheep, if you simply try to argue over this, I will just laugh at your reasons against this. Also mods ppppllleeeaaaaasssee don't ban me or delete this because I just want to state a point. After all, this is System Wars. lulz.

i stopped reading there. If nintendo wanted to make a quick buck then Super Mario Galaxy wouldnt even be in the top 5 of the highest rated games ever, youre a fanboy and guess what nobody cares about you.

SSBB, SMG, MP3:C, Okami Wii, Boom Blox, No More Heroes, Zack and Wiki, MLB Power Pros, Battalion Wars 2, VC titles, WiiWare and more in the span off 10 months.

I truly feel betrayed by Nintendo and its business partners :(

The Wii isn't the best of consoles, though it isn't the worst either. (Didn't feel like reading another paragraph of fanboy rants...I am laughing at your reasons though.)

There is no reason why a Nintendo fan should be upset with the lineup of games

coming from a long time Nintendo fan, you're partly right.

Nintendo has partially misplaced their priorities. A storage solution should of came with WiiWare. I've only downloaded a few games and I'm already out of space. Nintendo also neglected online play early on, and continues to neglect voice chat to this day. Both of which have affected us "fanboys" for the most part.

However, Nintendo is working on a storage solution, and voice chat. Or at least they claim. But with Mario Kart, Brawl, Metroid, and Super Mario Galaxy all being released recently, it's impossible to say Nintendo doesn't care about their fans. And they've announced they'll have some news at E3 which will please all us "fanboys".

With that said, it seems as if Nintendo is trying to juggle the casual audience as well as their hardcore fans. Only time will tell if they can successfully manage both demographics.

Anyways, onwards with my point. Nintendo doesn't care about the fanboys because when fanboys complain about something, Nintendo won't listen. Also, after the GameCube flopped, Nintendo needed money so they looked to casual games. Nintendo wants to cover the losses of the GameCube, which is why they switched to casual. I've been really annoyed like this. Yes, I played Mario Galaxy. yes, it's fun.kokomos

Nintendo made profit last gen with the gamecube from day one. They were financially well off.

Nintendo wants to expand it's market. It's something a business does -- the main goal of a business is to make profits.

Whats the next best step of expanding your market beyond the core gamer? Go to people who do not normally play games and bring them into the market. This is not a bad thing seeing as they still provide titles for the core gamer as well are titles for the non-gamer and casual gamer.

You can keep trying to argue this, but looking at it from a gamer's persepctive, you wont understand why they are doing what they are doing and all you are going to do is blame nintendo.

Nintendo isn't responsible for the shovelware that gets released on the Wii. The most popular console has always had the most shovelware, including the PS2. Blame the developers of the crappy games, and the stupid people that buy them, but don't blame Nintendo.

Sorry but I don't buy crap. If there weren't good games to buy then I'd have a problem but why do I care about bad titles I only buy the good ones. I don't care if there are a million bad titles compared to the lot of good ones. I only buy the good games.

Actually, they kinda are. If they were smart, they would have a system to see if a game is good or bad. But Nintendo doesn't, so they allow all sorts of junk to come into their system. Just like Atari did with the Atari 2600.

Call it a hunch, but I think that the Wii is the Atari 2600 all over again.

To make bold claims such as the Wii is the Atari is completely frivolous. The Wii had a few great games, many good games, and continously sells more than any other console in gaming history. In addition, most people, including myself, don't care how many bad games are released on the console. I just don't pay attention to the shovelware. It'd be different if the Wii had absolutely no games worth playing, and it only had shovelware, but thats not the case.

As I said before, the goal of any business is to gain profit -- not just nintendo.

As for what you said, it doesnt matter how many consumers they had -- they still made a profit day one, something the other consoles did not do.

Non-gamers are buying the Wii because it's seperating itself from the gaming stigma -- Yeah, a lot of Wii owner's play Wii Sports and maybe bought it for that. Whats the problem with that? A lot of people buy a Wii for Brawl. A lot of people buy 360 for Halo. A lot of people buy PS3 for FF 13. There is no difference.

Yes, Nintendo "Just wants money" but guess what, so do Sony and Microsoft.

First of all. ALL COMPANIES ARE ON THE MARKET TO MAKE MONEY!

Second of all. As long as i can play Mario, Zelda, and Smash Bros. what else do i need?

Third of all. If you bought a Nintendo product for 3rd party games, that just sucks for you. Everyone knows what Nintendo is all about.

Fourth of all. Who cares if it is attracting casual gamers? That just means next gen more people will become hardcore gamers.

Fifth of all. Someone like you who doesnt respect a gaming company like Nintendo, who has done so much for the gaming industry, shouldnt even call themselves a hardcore gamer, i bet all the casuals show more respect than you do. These are people who never even played games before and now they are.

Its people like YOU who RUIN the gaming industry.

What games have I bought recently? MSG4 for my PS3. :P

But in all seriousness, these are the games sitting next to my Wii right now.

1.) Mario Kart

2.) Brawl

3.) Okami

4.) Twlight Princess

5.) Metroid Prime 3

6.) Medal of Honor: Heroes 2

7.) Boom Blox

8.) Super Mario Galaxy

9.) No More Heroes

10.) Resident Evil 4

And that doesn't include the countless VC and WiiWare games I've downloaded. I honestly don't see myself enjoying as many games on any other console. Although I have a more enjoyable experience playing MSG 4 than I do with most of my Wii games.

So while the Wii has many good games, I think other consoles have the big guns (COD 4, Halo 3, GTA4, MSG4 etc.)

Attention Sony Fanboys: Sony doesn't care about you either. If they did, they wouldn't have forced you to pay more by including blu-ray. Now before you say "but blu-ray makes games better!!!" That, while debatable, is rather irrelevant to the fact. Sony didn't include the format for the sake of gaming. They did it to give THEMSELVES an edge up against competing HD-DVD.

Never saw a bad game on any other console. Never saw heard of sleeper hits before. Doesn't understand that Nintendo thinks making money is good, which I believe is the goal of any company. I don't even see the point behind his argument, just another rant.

Not only that -- People buy a sony tv > people buy a ps3 > people buy blu-ray movies to watch on their HDTV sets.

This is why sony put blu-ray in gaming. To expand their market.

All the gaming companies care about is profit. Profit comes from people like us. Without us their would be no profit. So nintendo does care about us.

No he doesnt have any logic behind this pointless rant. He isnt even using facts to back up his points. All he is saying is All the Nongamers are playing WiiSports. Lol

I also love after every post he says he doesnt want to get banned or suspended.

4. No, it doesn't. They will be used to the casual stuff. They won't be playing GoW or MGS or "hardcore" franchises. They will still be playing the "casual" games.

kokomos

Um, we all started off playing some pretty crappy games -- I remember playing and enjoying friggin' bubsy.

I'd say i've turned out to be a core gamer -- everyone has to start somewhere. Just like if you started off listening to a artist/band in a genre, you move on to other bands that are similar until you find things you really like and you expand.

Its no different in gaming. If you can't handle 'casual' gamers or non-gamers coming into the industry, sucks for you.

There is a 'FAIL' in your argument. I listen to rock music, and I will find new bands that are rock. I didn't say casual=crappy, I said casual=casual. There were no casual games during the SNES era, so you would be playing the "hardcore" games, and you are now a "hardcore" gamer. I can handle casual/non-gaming gamers coming into the industry, I just don't want to see EVERY game a casual game. I am a hardcore gamer, so I would like to see hardcore games.

That's just what you want to play. You like Mario, Zelda and Smash Bros., so that's what you want to play. Good for you.

I JUST DO NOT LIKE THE APPROACH NINTNEDO IS TAKING WITH THE WII. I AM A HARDCORE/RETRO GAMER, NOT A CASUAL GAMER. Jeez!kokomos

So I think those parts sum this all up. You believe that you have a correct opinion (again, non-existent), and you're sounding just like any one of the guys who posts their own set of "facts" ranting "my konsul pwns urs n00bs". I think this fits right in with those ranks of threads. (He's not getting anywhere though, hehe.)

Casual gaming was dominating the marketplace with titles like Grant Theft Auto and Halo long before the Wii came along.
