Cow lawyers... that's new.BambooBangerLol, indeed. It's kind of weird that anyone would do this, but it IS actually illegal to market something as something it's not (did that make sense?)

Because, we all know that saying anything negative about your favorite console/console's games automatically makes them a fanoby

If this MYSTERIOUS 'lawsuit' made any sense, they wouldnt just zero out Halo 3.
Cows are full of mystery, what with the Crystal Ball's and Time Machine's they use to peer into 2009
better start looking at lots of other games on both PS3 and 360 then, loads of em dont technically support 720P HD or higher.
anyway that wont be going ahywhere. MSs high priced lawyers will have this sorted very quickly.

Perhaps Eidos will put a stop to it!
I'm actually surprised more stuff like this doesn't happen. Isn't there a lot of upscaling and trickery going on with most games claiming to be "TRUE HD"?locopatho
The video game industry is unique in that it gets away with absolute MURDER when it comes to thing's like this.
Just look at the 360 - Buy one, BREAKDOWN FREE.
or the MANY PS3 promises that haven't come to fruition - you wouldn't buy a car and state things it CAN'T DO as a selling point
Heh, oh well, I guess technically it's illegal. Reminds me of a recent incident with those "Vista ready" labels in computers which couldn't handle Aero or some other Vista features, can't remember how that ended tho.EntwineX
It is but it reminds me of that other loser who is sueing for $5 million because his copy of Halo 3 broke his 360. Why would they reward this guy with that much money for a machine that cost 1/10000000 of that? Thats putting him in a better position than him and his family would ever imagine being in, thats definitely not justice if he were to win that case.
All thats going to happen if he were to win is that everyone that felt "short-changed" by the false advertising will get their $60 bucks back.

Probably for "emotional damages" when he realises what an effing loser he is.
that's BS and the lawyers and plaintiffs will fail. though the game is not rendered in "native HD (720p or 1080i/p)", the game is not SD (480i/p) either. it's in between (640p) in what is commonly referred to as ED.
here's an idea for those idiot laywers, why not sue sony for not equipping the ps3 with dual hdmi as was promised and for not releasing all games in 120fps, dual 1080p and 4D? sony promised those as well and never delivered. hell the ps3 can't even scale 720p games or movies to 1080i! wtf?

Not necessarially. Lawyers are in it for the money. They don't care who they sue or whose lives they ruin, as long as they can live an above-average lifestyle.

As you can see, I have a beef with lawyers/attorneys.

Yeah man way to go and diss on lawyers. :|
They care for the gamers and want to give the xbox live community especially the best possible gaming experience. They don't want to see gamers get hurt, they respect gamers and gaming in general. Without lawyers watching gamers back who else has the industry got?

Fine, I'll retract my statement.
Why is Halo a 'bad' game? Please, amuse me. How is it's graphics 'crappy'? Please, again, amuse me.Halo looks crappy how ever you look at it, if not for that multiplayer the game would blow.

You didn't pick up on the obvious sarcasm. I was supporting you. Of course this whole lawsuit stinks of lets make a quick buck, because there are plenty of games that have promised things and failed in the past, including resolutions.

Sarcasm + text + me = ?
I can't really tell it when it's in text that much.. lol.
640p is NOT EDTV
480p is EDTV.
In fact, resolutions as low as 540p are sometimes referred to as HD, although, I think technically, HD is 1080i, 720p, and 1080p. However, since 1080i is really just alternating 540p images, and being that Halo is higher than 540p at 640p, it's probably more "correct" to say it is HD, than to say it's not.
M$ originally printed on Xbox 360 advertisements that All games MUST render 720p with 4xaa. Sony never did that with there false promises. Thats the big deal here.
Unfortunently, they probably have a legitamate case.
Cali3350
really? what about sony execs saying that the ps3 games will be 1080p @ 60fps?

Thats not legally binding. They never physically sold you something with that guarentee.
