Bullet to their own head if ya ask me but WTH, they won't feel a thing since Edge mag has been dead for years anyway.
Likely a ploy trying to get some much needed attention. :P
[QUOTE="bobbetybob"]I personally think it's absolutely ridiculous for any multiplatform games magazine to have a cover like that, just makes them look bad. ShewgenjaTrue.. But then again, this is the XBone we're talking about here. Doesn't matter, I mean, I'd have to read the article first but I really don't see what they could possibly be saying makes the PS4 "the only choice". It's cheaper, and it's specs are slightly better on paper, everything else about the consoles is exactly the same.
Well they obviously do not care about the future of their magazine. Good luck getting any support from Microsoft in the future with a cover like that. Not very professional.
ellohell! MS will be pumping advertising dollars in every possible direction they can. They need the magazines far more than the magazines need them.Well they obviously do not care about the future of their magazine. I think you're going to find, as launch day draws closer, that there is actually a sizable difference in the games. Demo builds at E3 and speculative lists of launch games do not tell the full story.
I thought Edge was suppose to be this objective, well respected media source. Intead it's just a big massive advertisment. Like well, IGN, gametrailers, gamespo... gamespo... Remember the gamespot Battlefield 3 launch marathon? Partnered with EA? Good times.

Consumers will see a difference in price and in games at the start... Nothing more. True.. But then again, this is the XBone we're talking about here. Has Edge not always been in favour of Sony consoles?
Harisemo
Er, no. They're infamous for rating PS3 exclusives below the average and rating 360 exclusives above it.
Not the same. This is posed as a question, the topic cover is a statement. A multiplatform magazine can still be impartial and back a specific console if it's editors believe beyond reasonable doubt what they are stating.Has Edge not always been in favour of Sony consoles?

Not at all, you'd have to be pretty stupid to say that PS4 is the ONLY option. It's certainly a more attractive option, of course it is, it's cheaper, supposedly more powerful and out of the box you're getting pretty much the same things apart from an overpriced fancy camera that most gamers don't even want. But ONLY option implies that the Xbox One is completely useless and has no games or merits of its own which is completely untrue. All this is is the sort of yellow journalism you see on the internet all the time from sites who care more about getting hits than about presenting facts and I expect more from Edge.
It's not like Europe is a battleground for Sony, they're already doing well there.
Also, fvck Edge, this is a stupid thing to come out and say.
It fine for a magazine to be one sided in my mind and until I read it I cant say for sure whether what they written is that damning. I cant say I agree with the sentiment at least from the point of view that the kinect is why there is a 100 difference( even if it should be optional). So when I compare the systems I would say the ps4 is more powerful and has a cheaper base price but its not the only choice at all.
Maybe all the negative press is the shot in the arm Microsoft needs to get hungry again like they were at the beginning of last gen. If they want to gain back the lost ground they will have to shake things up.

i love that site
there is even a german one now

Those crazy germans. They have it all figured out.The cover story sounds very biased, but honestly given how the whole gaming industry went batshit crazy on Microsoft, would you feel bad for this type of cover stories, in my own opinion Microsoft deserves all the hate they get, every inch and sqaure of it. If their business policies does not align with the health of the industry, they should sell the Xbox brand to Google or Samsung
Sounds like they're trying to get back at Microsoft because of all the stuff Microsoft did try to enforce. While I do not necessarily wish for Xbox to fail, I do appreciate some of the crap/rep hit they took/taking because of those silly stuff.
But then again, most of that silly stuff was things that didn't even bother me since it wouldn't affect me.
It's a magazine that needs to sell copies, having controversial shit in it and on the cover helps achieve that goal.
Also makes me wonder if this was written before or after the X1 turn arounds
Same thing im wondering too. But on another note, to the people bashing Edge for writing this...wouldnt them censoring their opinion for fear of reprisal from a group of gamers make them less credible? If this is how they really feel...shouldn't they just say it?It's a magazine that needs to sell copies, having controversial shit in it and on the cover helps achieve that goal.
