Avowed official predictions

With the release of one of the best developers(Xbox studio's Obsidian)new game just a few weeks away 13th feb through early access or feb 18th on Gamepass ultimate its prediction time.

From being one of the best reveals at the xbox show case to criticism for its too colourful meh graphics,to raising the hype level in its last 3 showings Avowed is shaping up well...and who else to give us a 20 hour review that might contain spoilers but a random nobody from youtube....enjoy

Sadly I think this game will be analyzed based on the politics of the viewer instead of as a game.

But trying to set politics aside, I expect an 8.5/10.

7 or 8 type game, and I'll be happily surprised if it's received/is better.

I predict it will come to PS5 😎

I'd say 8-9. It will need some patches after launch like most games do, and I'm sure some will hate on it for it not being like Skyrim (Just like Outer Worlds was compared to Fallout), but I'm usually not disappointed by Obsidian releases, so I have faith. I will most likely add a personal point to the score just because I really like the Pillars of Eternity lore and worldbuilding.

That dude compared it to Skyrim. So personally for me if I play it, probably a 4.

I think it's pretty clear that most of MS's games will end up on PS5, some day 1 like Doom and others later like Starfield and Avowed.

As I said before, this isn't the win for Sony as you think it is and I'm sure Sony feels the same way. They are essentially drowning out Sony's first party, that whole "spend Sony out of business" plan that leaked during FCC and you guys are cheering it on

It's definitely a win for MS and PS5 gamers, though

i'm joking, but i do see your point.. gamer's only have so much time and money.. and when you don't have a service like Game Pass to make these decisions easier, some games will get swallowed up by other releases..

On-topic: i'd say 8/10 in general but a 6/10 from 6Spot..

It's like a really solid 8 but SonySpot cough GameSpot will likely give it a 7.

I'm thinking somewhere between an 80 and 84 meta. I also predict (with the crystal ball Phil lent to me) it will eventually be announced for PS5. Either way I'll either try it on Gamepass or wait for a sale on PS if and when it ever comes.

I have Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 to play through first either way, so I can wait a while.

I wish I bought a series x instead of s.

Gamespot gives it an 8. Not that the score matters, since I'll play the game anyway. I am pretty hyped.

@Antwan3K: If you can beat an Elder Scrolls-like game in just over a week I would be well impressed, like dude that's generally impressive.

I'll be spending more than ten days on just The Wayward Realms demo this year, let alone a full release with six years of development like Avowed.

Yet the games phil sends over to pissstation all top the pre order charts

Looks like a solid 8 to or 9 out of 10 based on what we've seen .. I'll say a 9 on the big sites but an 84 overall because of the low IQ, fearful sort who will be broken over aesthetic choices.

sounds about right to me. looks like it should be a very solid RPG, but probably wont light the world on fire.

I'm guessing a 7.5 -- it's a poor man's Elder Scrolls. Still will be a solid game though, and I am looking forward to playing it.

Avowed won't be going anywhere, i'll play it on release and revisit it after i can squeeze it in between other games.. i foresee being addicted to MH Wilds for quite a while tho lol

So, MS games are average, and yet you're celebrating these average games coming to PS because Sony has nothing of their own to release and Xbox are the losers. Sounds like loser talk.

Hard enough to predict a score, even harder when the Xbox tax is a variable wild card that's directly proportional to the level of Sony fanboy insecurity in the reviewer at the time of review.

Avowed and Civilization will keep me busy. Pre-ordered Civilization and Avowed on Gamepass for the win.

Looking forward to it, but this is Obisidian and they tend to make games that are diamonds-in-the-rough a lot of the time, or lack mainstream appeal.

I expect an 8 or so. Which is fine by me, I prefer a 7 or 8 to a 9 or 10, to be frank. It means the game isn't for everyone, but those it is for will be very happy.

Well, politics of Youtubers and other dipshits, sure.

But I think any honest person will be able to just enjoy the game (or not) for what's there (or is missing).

76 metacritic and 8 here. I think it'll be solid but perhaps a little boring.

Civilization and Pirate Yakuza will take up most of February (and March, too).

I'm interested in Avowed though. I enjoyed the lore of the Pillars of Eternity games, so more of that sounds great.

As for scores...uh...8, maybe? I imagine it'll be really interesting but a bit flawed on the technical side.
