So my question is since everyone says the ps3 sucks for not having backwards compatability while wii and 360 own face cause of it how many of you actually use it? and how many of you actually like the 360 backwards compatability cause I've heard a lot of people think its buggy. Personally the only one I use is the wii to play ocarina of time from when I pre ordered wind waker so I guess thats double backward compatable?

Me use bakward compatibiltiesy all the time. PS3 bad for not have it.

My PS2 broke so now my only way of playing it is by going to my neighbour's to borrow a PS3 ti okay my PS2 games on. When I get my own PS3, it will have to have BC and I will use it.

I'm just finished playing Burnout 3 so I use the 360's BC a lot. The newer PS3's not being BC is one of the main things that stopping me from buying one, I don't like the idea of having a gimped console rather than a fully featured one... You would think with the Playstation having such a great history when it comes to games that Sony would want people to experience them on PS3, what they've done is pretty stupid (IMO).

Well, I may not be the best case for this question. Basically, I plan to stay with this generation for a while, and explore all that it has to offer, and that includes both old and new things. With that in mind, so far, I've only used the Wii's BC a bit, with both the Gamecube and VC games. And I do love those features. It's given me a chance to go back and play games that I missed out on before, and will give me a chance to play games that I grew up on (I haven't actually gotten games that I played before, but do plan to eventually). I have not played any of the Xbox games on the 360, although I do plan to. They're a big part of what this gen has to offer for me. And that's also why I plan to get a 60 GB PS3, for the PS2 BC. For me, it's just an important part of the gen, and to take it away is just stupid. Don't care about playing past games? Then don't. But Sony should at least give people the option to have it if they want to. I don't even see why they took it out in the first place.

i think all systems should have that from what the last system was. ps2- ps1, wii- gamecube, xbox 360- xbox. all systems should have it. PC has some sort of backwards computability.

Technically it does have PS1 BC. But anyway, PS2 BC will come sooner or later in a firmware update. I have a BC PS3 and never play PS2 games on it. From now on, it's all about the Triple.

No BC is a move by Sony to make more money. Everyone hates it when companies do this because more money meaning more people get screwd. Why have BC in PS3 when the Ps2 is out. Making people buy the ps2. Gather a collection of games. And hoping they transfer to buy PS3 when it does get it after ps2 is gone. Its all about the long run. and money. and

The only PS1 game i have played on my ps3 is fighting force, And the only PS2 games I have played are Gun, Final Fantasy XII and God of War

I think the backlash for the newer PS3s not having PS2 BC is because Sony made that a highlight for buying a PS3 but then taking it out. You have to realize that the PS2 has the largest library of games compared to the original Xbox and Gamecube combined. So having PS2 BC in the PS3 is a big deal while having BC for the 360 and Wii, not so much.

same here. even though I have 21 games for my 360, I still have 21 (quite odd it worked out like that) original Xbox games, eight of which are Xbox originals downloaded onto my 360. All of my xbox games, but two (MGS2 and Rallisport Challenge 2) are BC but in the end it doesn't really matter seeing how I still have my original xbox. The nice upside to the BC is the bumped up resolution and I've experienced very few (if any) bugs while playing these games on my 360.

The only PS1 game i have played on my ps3 is fighting force, And the only PS2 games I have played are Gun, Final Fantasy XII and God of War

When I first got my PS3 over a year ago, I played through God of War 2 and downloaded a few PS1 games from the Store. And that's it. Since then, I've just had too many current gen games to keep me busy.

I would get a PS3 to play PS3 and PS2 games on there, plus my PS2 is broke. The Wii and 360 have better BC than PS3 of course and I still play games from last gen along with this gen.

I want Sony to make an emulator for the newer model PS3, it is ridiculous for me to have many ps2 games to play since my ps2 isn't working well. If they are making an emulator, I hope it comes out soon. I want to play Odin Sphere and the Persona games :cry:

I use the PS3 BC from time to time since I have not had a PS2 in a long time, and I used to use the 360 BC alot when it first launched, which is the window when BC is most important.

My PS3 is BC but I rarely use it for PS2 games plus I still have my PS2 lying around. I will be using it for PSX games starting next week but all PS3s can play those.

There is no reason for the PS3 to be without backwards compatability. After all, they've put everything else into that system, right? May as well go the full 10 yards instead of stopping at 9.
