Bad graphics = good sales

 last gen the ps2 system was the worst graphicaly, but one thing that is odd is that it went on to sell the best. Now this gen wii has the worst graphics but it is selling like one million wiis a month. So I figure that whatever system has the worst graphics is going to be the best system that gen. I'm not  saying the wii has bad graphics though just not the best this gen.

Does anyone think it's weird that ps3 owners are such graphic whores even though the ps2's graphics were the worst last gen. 

You can't compare the difference between a Wii and a PS3/X360 is far bigger than a difference between PS2 and GC or Xbox. But your fact is still sort of true, PS1 sold more and had worser graphics, same with Ps2 and same thing with the DS lite. But also there are 2 other things those consoles have in common massive 3rd party support, and cheap price compared to the competition.

IMO the main reason is the price following by the 3rd party games.

Yes, the only ? mark I have with the wii at the moment is because of the innovative way of the console and (sadly) the lack of the graphic power COMPARED to PS3 and X360, if a 3rd party dev makes a Wii game it will most likely stay only on the wii which will of course be exclusive, because of he can't port it on the other console due to the innovation and the graphical lack, and remaking that game for the xbox 360 and Ps3 isn't so great great. (The devs will most likely question themselves making a game only on the wii, or multiplatform game on ps3 and x360 which option will make more profit. Of course big devs such as EA or SquareEnix wont have this kind of questions, but a small dev that tries to enter between the "bigs" will have trouble deciding) Anyways it's to early to talk about sales right now.

Exactly.  Both of these consoles sell like gang busters because the average casual gamer can afford them.  And the average gamer is more concerned with fun then they are with graphics.

Why didn't the Dreamcast win?  It had the worst graphics last generation.

HD gaming and movies are overrated. It offers nothing but a sharper picture for the insane cost of $1,500 for a decent one. Why own an HD system when you can own a non-HD for half the money? Also, keep in mind that most casuals don't really care about graphics like the hardcore do.OceanLeet

PS3 and 360's graphic superiority isn't a matter of HD.
