look at the wall, if you got close to the walls in the actual game most will be low resolution crap like that.

Textures can use some work, but that's about it.

Everything else in thsi game (especially the lightning,blood effects, animations/character designs and gun models) look better than anything on consoles.

Oh, and this is pre-alpha too...

okay but...u've seen the game in motion right? Not one jagged up...blurry ass screenshot (or even 20 for that matter) can even begin to describe this game as anything but unbeleivable looking. Most graphically impressive console game...ever. period.

lamo were is everyone getting this PRE ALPHA bs from? The games bee in the works for over 2 years, seriously if it's in PREALPHA then it is going the way of Duke Nukem Forever!

The sad fact is the lack of ram cripples the PS3 as far as textures go and it's crystal clear if you just look at all the games

KZ2 muddy mess, MGS4 muddy mess, RFOM muddy mess and on and on, but what about games like Oblivion you say?

Oblviion clearly looks better in places, but it's not exactly from higher resolution textures, if you look at the differences closely the places were Oblvion looks better are actually for the most part flat textures substituting the lesser look normal mapped ones that were in the xbox 360, normal mapping textures are inherently take up more ram then even higher res flat textures hence the result you see. So basically what you saw in the original oblvion was the devs giving up to much resolution to give the textures nicer effects, they corrected this in the PS3 version and as a result they not only got a better looking result, but a texture in place that was actually smaller then the original.

It does look like there is dust all over everything in most of the shots. Kinda goes with the look though I think.

I think it will be interesting though when we get a few more months in and they start up the downgrade posts. Always fun for games in development.

man gamespot said badtexturezone very impressive game how can it be impressive if bad textures? thats weird. i guess gs didnt have time to look around the whole level and check every single wall/ground to see if the textures are horrible. oh well

No one can say anything about killzone 2 anymore... there is nothing to pick apart about it, know one is allowed to $hit talk it anymore because it delivered... i would also like to point out that they have like 6 moths left to do more with the game so to say something like the wall has bad textures is completly stupid! and stop trying to deny the fact that the killzone 2 trailer 07 was amazing and blew away every video put out at e3 just like the first one did

yeah but if i were to take a picture of a gears trailer in motion in it's alpha build i'm betting the textures would look so great

dude in the trailer the only time i notice bad texture was one part in the airship thing thats it. other than that itlooked amazing

look at guy shooting the chaingun turret the wall looks crap.

Nice try. I just saw the new IGN gameplay footage and it literally looks nothing like that. Besides, still in alpha mode. Gamespot likes it. Ign likes it. 1Up likes it. Everyone is starting to like it, hell, even Cliffy B said it looked hot.

man gamespot said badtexturezone very impressive game how can it be impressive if bad textures? thats weird. i guess gs didnt have time to look around the whole level and check every single wall/ground to see if the textures are horrible. oh wellanshuk20002

It was clear the game had bad textures, its not something you need to look closely for, but that doesn't mean the game has bad graphics.

the fact is im a pc gamer by heart, yes i own xbox360 also, but i rarly play it i dont even own gears of war.

But the graphics do destroy killzone2.

killzone2 is going to rule, just because that wall didnt have perfect textures like ur perfect PC. but it will look and be better then gears when it is released
