The sad fact is the lack of ram cripples the PS3 as far as textures go and it's crystal clear if you just look at all the games
KZ2 muddy mess, MGS4 muddy mess, RFOM muddy mess and on and on, but what about games like Oblivion you say?
Oblviion clearly looks better in places, but it's not exactly from higher resolution textures, if you look at the differences closely the places were Oblvion looks better are actually for the most part flat textures substituting the lesser look normal mapped ones that were in the xbox 360, normal mapping textures are inherently take up more ram then even higher res flat textures hence the result you see. So basically what you saw in the original oblvion was the devs giving up to much resolution to give the textures nicer effects, they corrected this in the PS3 version and as a result they not only got a better looking result, but a texture in place that was actually smaller then the original.

It does look like there is dust all over everything in most of the shots. Kinda goes with the look though I think.
I think it will be interesting though when we get a few more months in and they start up the downgrade posts. Always fun for games in development.

Nice try. I just saw the new IGN gameplay footage and it literally looks nothing like that. Besides, still in alpha mode. Gamespot likes it. Ign likes it. 1Up likes it. Everyone is starting to like it, hell, even Cliffy B said it looked hot.

killzone2 is going to rule, just because that wall didnt have perfect textures like ur perfect PC. but it will look and be better then gears when it is released
