Okay, so Im one of those people who thought that Rare has been sucking since MS acquired them. They still make good game but not to the quality of the n64 times. (view edit history for full version of intro)
Anyway, initially with Banjo I thought it was going to suck. I thought they were going to waste the franchise. Come yesterday and I played the demo. it's freaking awesome. If the demo is remotely like the rest of the game, it's a true return to the N64 days. Yes, the game is mostly about vehicles. That being said, there is a rather large amount of platforming (some of the access points were blocked off in the demo if you didnt use the floating thing). But anyway, I can't put it in any other way, this is Banjo-Threeie and it's what I'd expect from the n64 rare.
And to put down some people's worries, the demo has a lot of content and it's about 4 jiggies worth, and I didn't get the trophy tomas's at all. And considering this si the early levels, Id imagine the latter levels are a bit more complicated (or more so thought needing) so the game will last long. The demo itself takes several hours to complete
--- And to the hardcore Banjo fan. There's eggs hidden on rooftops and a key outline in the snow. Bottles has a message to for 6000notes...
(and hell, it's $40 and comes with Banjo 1)
And for the record, when I say it's going to be the best platformer, I mean it. I don't think it's going to score the highest though, just because. Could be AA. In reality it could be a 4.5 for all I care, the demo proved to me that rare is back.
