Barely know much about the PS4 or Next Xbox and already calling victory?

So Sony released the specs of the PS4, a few unimpressive games here and there, and the Share button and people are already calling it the Messiah of Gaming?

Talk about easy to hype. No wonder the industry is how it is. This Cow v. Lem war is just Nerf war (without any actual Nerf bullets to fire). Don't fall for the hype. No really, don't.

Sony has only shared the good news about their console. There is always bad news with a pair of good news. Wait for the bad news.

Or is this going to be battle of "The Lesser of TWO Evils"? For all we know (which is almost nothing) it could well turn into it.

It's not as much that Sony/PS4 is doing so great, it actually is with a lot of indie-exclusives announced and a lot of positive developer feedback, it is that Microsoft is doing so poorly. They entered and surpassed pre-PS3/peri-PS3 Sony levels arrogance of arrogance by:

1. Telling people to move for better internet.
2. Telling people to get a second job to make for $20 monthly payments with a $300 upfront purchase.
3. Telling that women are the new core as if the 'old' core is irrelevant.
4. Actively driving away indie developers like Jonathan Blow.
5. Talking about consumer-centric approach yet updating the dashboard with more slots for ads.

I already know enough about the next Xbox and that there's not a snowball's chane in hell of me owning one. Having to always be online was enough to seal that deal. PS4 looks good so far but I wasn't planning on getting it day one anyways. I've got a PS3, 360, Wii U, 3DS and Vita already, and tons of games for each of them, so the only thing I'll be needing in the near future is a good PC.

Point three was misinterpreted by you.Ms meant that they wanted more women to be reepresented more in games. Point 5 is true, but we don't know their next gen stragety for indie devs yet. Point 5 refered to that morons twitter posts.

The video game rumor mill is essentially what SW thrives on, especially during these generational transition periods. Once we receive concrete facts that are inarguable, they quickly get swept aside in favor of the latest rumor.

I do not understand it myself. It is one thing to be fanboyish about the current systems but to declare allegiance to a product that is unknown or very little known is weird. Since most games are multiplat now I will probably only get one console this gen to go along with the PC so I personally care more about the product that will offer me the best value and not the company that makes it. This gen I had PS3 and 360 and imo the 360 was the best but I will decide which console I want more after E3 or when enough info has been released.

This is why I am a staunch PC defender. Sony and MS try to divide gaming in two parts... well in three if we count Nintendo. While PC´s recent mission is to unite gaming on one sigle platform.

What is the reason in these silly wars cows vs lemmings, lemmings vs cows, when we could actually be just gamers.

PCs for enthusiasts and closed PC boxes for consolites, all of them under one single OS, this is how I see gaming should be.

You get one or two nobodies making wild claims and that would be just rumors, but when you get well-known industry figures like Eidos's President and numerous media outlets all saying the same thing, then it's much more than that. You can hide behind your denial all you want.

I never agreed with Microsoft's ptp online structure to begin with, and I have zero interest in anything Kinect related, so why the hell would I keep buying their products? I'm sick and tired of their exclusive franchises--I've played them for years from the beginning, and I know all about their lack of first party core titles, so not supporting a company who's philosophy I don't agree with is a no-brainer.

We know PS4 hardware is cool and all devs jumping in, the controller is cool, and the share button rocks.

We know Xboxnext is an always on Kinectbox and weaker than PS4 xD

I think thats plenty. How can PS3 fail on games with the first party it has and all third parties going to Sony.

I think M$ and Sony have already scored a victory off the Wii U without lifting a finger heh. However it's going to be years before we can truly decide which is the better machine and like the op says, there's always a measure of bad that accompanies the good so lets prepare for that (unless you don't really care for consoles). What we do know is that both the House of Halo and God of War will make a lot of money and in the end that's victory enough. 

Compared to the Wii:U, of course. Unless your big of fan of Nintendo and don't play any other games.

Sony has everything covered, to the games, the list of developers, exclusives and multiplatforms to online to the hardware..
What more can a gamer want?

Microsoft at the very least would match up to Sony.

So its a safe bet, 720/PS4/PC will reign supreme as a gamers machine and as a household media entertainment console too.
