yes it should Its an amazing game I now own it on 2 platforms and the soundtrack autographed :)

Greg Kasavin is part of the development team for Bastion. Nuff said.

As someone who does not enjoy RPG's. I enjoyed the demo quite a bit. Those guys have made something special.

Gah, it was half price on XBLA the other week and >€5 on Steam! Should have got it then.

I own it on XBLA and PC.:cool: The game is truly magnificent.

Not sure it should have won GOTY outright, but if there's an indie category or a best new IP/newcomer, it should have wiped the floor with the competition.

Think it won best soundtrack and/or song here though didn't it?

The game was great, but very repeatitive and short

Of course it is one of my top 2011 games, but is not anywhere as amazing and varied as Dark souls, Skyrim or Witcher 2

The tile based engine is the main thing holding it way back of those titles and older RPGs like FF7-8-9, everything seems so same after a while due to the use of tiles

It´s a fantastic game but not GOTY. Skyrim deserved the award.

Bastion was a beastly game, and yeah I bet Greg Kasavin had a ton to do with that. But it's too short for GoTY material. It's 6 hours long if you take it slowly. That just doesn't scream GoTY in anyway, it's a great cheap indie game that everyone should get. But it's not a big-big game. If it was longer and still as good as it was, then yeah....def. a GoTY game. :3Lethalhazard

GotY 2008 was a what, 4 hours long game. Same for GotY 2006.

It is on my list of games I am trying to decide which ones I spend the 2400 points I have on. Outland is up there as well. But we will see what happens in the coming days of the sales.foxhound_fox

If you've got any interest at all in music, get it. Best original soundtrack of the year, composed by just one (legendary) man.

The story is told in a very unique fashion too.

It was a cool game but GOTY? :? Not even in my top ten. :P

You're forgetting the fact that gamers have gone easy on Bastion for the sole reason that it is a DL-able game, not a full retail release. It's a good game....for what it is - a rather short downloadable game. I'd be pissed if i spent 50 bucks on it and finished it in one afternoon. It got the same treatment Limbo and Super Meat Boy did. Gamers tend to not scrutinize on games like that.
