First let me say Mark Hamill is the greatest Joker ever. Heath had nothing on him (R.I.P*). Heath didn't even read one Batman comic to get the source material. He tried to put his own spin on the Joker and in my eyes he failed miserably. My thoughts are the same when it comes to Kevin Conroy's Batman vs Christian Bale's. Kevin Conroy has been the best Batman for the better part of 2 decades and he continues to be the definitive voice. When Christian Bale spoke in gurgles and grunts, for most parts were inaudible. After playing only some of this game I wish they would take3hours of gameplay, release it in theaters and call it "Batman: Dark Knight Done Right"

They're both great, and I salute the makers of Batman: AA for not just trying to make a quick buck off the success of The Dark Knight. They have managed to do the impossible: make a AAA superhero game. Best of all, it's totally different from the Nolan movies. I'm amazed at the quality of the Batman franchise right now.

Heath Ledger was an awesome Joker...I think both he and Mark Hamill did the character justice. Instead of portraying him as some silly clown with deadly pranks they portrayed the character as a diabolical sociopath that is The Batman's arch rival. They are 2 awesome perfomances that shouldn't be compared.

Dark Knight was a good movie, but a horrible interpretation of Batman. The main reason it did so well and won awards was because of Ledgers untimely demise.

in truth Batman has always been somewhat fairly treated (except for Batman and Robin) it had a great campy live action TV show in the 60's, it had what IGN considered to be the second best cartoon ever made, it had great games for the NES, SNES and master system Justice League and Justice League unlimited treated Batman quite well.... and so on

Ledger's performance was great, and his take on the Joker is from "The Killing Joke" in fact The Dark Knight is heavily inspired from that book. Ledger's Joker was far more disturbing to be quite honest. I think Mark Hammil and Ledger both do a fantastic Joker. And the Nolan versions of the Batman movies are fantastic, all be it they tend to be crime dramaish.

Yeah jee. You know i actually looked up who that actor was, who played the Joker and whether he played in other movies, because his performance was so outstanding. That's when i found out he died. Not prior. Never was into Batman but The Dark Knight and Arkham Asylum were great. The Batman movies before Dark Knight all seemed a bit nerdy and fake, like a puppeteer show. This one was way more convincing and to my liking (though i still think the batsuit looks silly).

Going by your wording, Ledger's Joker would have completely missed the mark. The Joker is suppose to be completely outrageous. Insane, and careless with his surrounding. It's his insanity that has made him such a comic book icon.

Agreed, and that's why I liked him so much.

Here's a fun fact: I saw The Dark Knight twice in theatres, LOL. 1st time I done that for 1 movie.

Liefeld?

Yeah, Rob Liefield, a really terrible artist that got famous because he was part of a cluster of artists that left Marvel to start Image comics you maky know some of the others:

Todd McFarlane : Spawn

Jim Lee : Lots of Wildstorm stuff

Mark Silvestri : The Darkness

Erik Larsen : The Savage Dragon

It was strange The amount of talent that just happened to be emplyed at Marvel seemingly all at the same time. They got pissed because they wanted to own the stuff that they did, so they started their own company. Most of the books were dismal failures, but a lot of those guys like Jim Lee (DC Universe) and Todd McFarlane became really successful.

Rob Liefeld, he was a comic book artist in the early 90s. Makes all his characters super buff and gritty. He's also infamous for his anatomically incorrect drawings, that's not really a problem in AA though. Would have enjoyed the game more if they had used Paul Pope's style.

Ledger's joker was kind of cool, i recognized some parts of me in that character. In fact i kind of loved the character. He was extremely witty, not necessarily crazy. Maybe he was just more convincing?
I understand that it's not the way the joker was supposed to be but imo... and i think psdual_wielders opinion too... it was actually an improvement.

Ledger played a good paranoid schizophrenic terrorist. The Joker is a Genocidal criminal madman who's master plan only makes sense to himself.

Honestly i thought he was still mad, but this time far more haunting. Darker, and more focused. The insanity was there, but with more of a focus. So yes I also enjoyed the Ledger performance. I'm just saying if you go by that wording if anything it sounds like LEdger ruined The Joker...which he didn't do, he in fact did a hell of a job as The Joker.

I just thought it was an incredibly unique and fresh take on the character. I know the usual facts that we know of the joker is that he must be 'completely insane', but you can be and witty and collected(as the way I described) at the same time, I think heath ledger nailed it. But if the way I worded it it sounded like he did something wrong then I must say I didn't mean any of that.

I was very happy to call him diabolical without it sounding corny. the situation with the 2 ferrys was a very good example of this.

It doesn't have idiotic editing, 40 billion plot holes and a main star that grumbles most of the movie.

The Dark Knight is the one of the highest grossing movies of all time for a reason, and in my opinion heath ledger is the best onscreen joker ever. I do agree that Mark Hamill and Kevin Conroy are superb voice actors' but thats where it stops, you are comparing voice acting to live acting which just seems retarded( i am not trying to start anything). Yes they have the voice but they wont be able to have the same onscreen presence, which i think Heath Ledger and Christian Bale captured brilliantly.

Mr Freeze's cell is in it, and if there is a sequel he will probably feature in that as properly!
Back to the main topic though, the best joker was definately Mark Hamill, but he wasn't only in the game, he was in the cartoons...

Joker was actually a clever psychotic with a twisted and demented take on reality after having has face burnt off (sorta) But neither is more accurate because the dark knight's joker was from 'The Killing Joke' while batman AA is completely new with things from all old comics (sorta)

The more I watched The Dark Knight the more I liked Heath's adaptation of The Joker. I admit that I hated his adaptation of it my first time watching though.

Christian Bale plays a great Batman IMO. I have no issues with him as Batman though his voice does get old after awhile.

Perfect and nothing more needs to be said...............even though it will be.

Both did outstanding jobs at portraying the Joker and imo they compliment each other rather than compete.

His voice was OK in the first one, but got very old in the second. He overacts some of the dialog parts really badly. I prefer him as Bruce Wayne though. If he changed his voice to a little bit more normal it would really be alot better.

I think the movies are superior. His batsuit is better, its more serious and darker and awesomer than the comic book game batman. It also has a Hanz Zimmer soundtrack.
