Batman: Arkham Asylum Receives Guinness World Record

Batman: Arkham Asylum has picked up a good deal of buzz, and not just from our little corner of the internet. While the game is scoring well among game critics, it's also receiving favorable reviews from other sources like the Associated Press. This positivity has led to it officially receiving a Guinness World Record for "Most Critically Acclaimed Superhero Game Ever." The press release claims it received the highest average review score to date (91.67) on a global scale. Gaz Deaves from Guinness World Records called it a "fantastic new game" and says they believe "it has a well deserved place in the Guinness World Records Book." In a genre most famous for terrible games, this might not seem like much of an accomplishment. Still, we were one review among the chorus of praise for the game, and a record is a record. Eidos, and particularly Rocksteady, are probably soaking this in.

I know Batman is a great game and all that.. But do you really think it deserves to be in Guinness World Record ??

I like batman. But this is just a fad. Ever since Batman has been revamped from the new movies. Everyone is jumping into the fun. Even non gamers. So you will trust a non gamers idea to put it into a record book? People that don't play games get to decide to make it a record? :roll:

i know right?! halo3 sucks so bad, it should've gotten like a 6.5 out of 10, maybe even less, I mean i played the story and everything, which was beyond horrible, and the online has been done so many times before, and better, and before you say i dont have a 360, your wrong, i do, i had to go through 7 of them though so my gamertag doesnt exist anymore, because i got feedup with it, and the terible 60$ a month.

What about Infamous? Did it beat Infamous? And if not then surely it must have been Infamous before this, right? This seems a bit random considering...

It's the truth, whether you agree with it or not. The majority consensus is right on this one. I just beat AA and it's superb all around. Amazing story. Mature and dark, but not just trying to be controversial. Great and seamless freeflow combat system. This is a masterpiece.

Hopefully this inspires developers to actually take pride in their game instead of just trying to cash in.

Imagine if we got a good Captain America, Iron Man, Spiderman, etc. game?

PS: I hope RockSteady is rewarded properly for such a great game. You can tell they took pride in their work and didn't want to just cash in on the name alone.

that is just too vague though. This is a superhero game, because it is based on a comic book character, and it has the highest average score given by recognized reviewers.
