Battle of the Divisive: If you could only choose one

Well Pokemon S+S look like a game from 2002, with all the quality of life improvements over the base formula you might expect from a Pokemon game in 2002. With network systems that seem like they come straight outta 2002.

Death Stranding is an amazing feat of software but with a bunch of stupid systems that make me both want to play and avoid it.

They're both amazing, and amazingly stupid in their own ways.

Death Stranding would be my choice, the game just looks and sounds to be so fantastic plus I’ve greatly enjoyed other Kojima games. I have enjoyed Pokémon games as well but just not to the degree of Kojima games.

Neither, but DS is more appealing than Pokemon trash.

I'd rather play pokemon. The gameplay looks simplistic but cool.

All I can say about Death stranding's gameplay is that it is something that exists.

Too hard to choose. I haven't found pokemon fun since gen 2, and I don't like any kojima game.

I haven't played either one, and I'm not that interested in doing so, but if I had to choose it would be Death Stranding simply because it looks weird. I'm game for something that is an odd experience. Detroit was like that for me - I'd never played a game like it, and wasn't sure I'd like it, but I wound up loving it. It was an odd and new experience to add to my logbook.

Definitely Pokemon... and I'm not even that keen on that either.

I'm really enjoying Sword and Shield. It might not be as impressive of a game as it could have been, but I like what's there.

I'm sure DS is a decent game as well. You know, most of the time the criticism is overkill.

I'd rather play Pokemon, but have much more respect for Death Stranding.

Death Stranding - Part hiking physics simulator, part cargo delivery management sim, and part online sandbox game. Some found it frustrating and boring, and others found it engaging and addictive. In terms of gameplay, this is the most divisive game of the year. This game is literally the definition of "your mileage may vary."

Pokemon Sword & Shield - By all accounts, this is still a fun Pokemon game, and there is no real issue with the gameplay. The big issue is "Dexit", i.e. the "Thanos snap" of the Pokedex from 800 down to 400. While a minority of vocal fans review-bombed it, that couldn't stop 6 million copies from being sold on opening weekend.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare - It wasn't divisive because of the gameplay, or because it cut out some features. But it was divisive because its depiction of Russians offended the nation of Russia, and so it got review-bombed by hordes of Russian bots.

I'll take a Big Mac, large Coke and fries.

Death Stranding of course. Very weird game that is very satisfying to play. Really enjoyed my time with it and probably will ends up as my GOTY.

I picked Pokemon since I have little to no interest in Death Stranding, but I would have picked neither if that were an option as well.

Really don't want to play any of those, but if I had to, I'd choose Pokémon.

DS I suppose. The Pokemen just never clicked with me at all, for some reason.

I'd pick DS because I don't want to play a couple of kiddie games. Really turned against Nintendo since the N64, baby ass kiddie games. I'm sure there are decent games on the Switch, as past Nintendo consoles, but I rather play games that suit my age.

Would probably go for Pokémon, mostly cause I never played one before and they always receive a lot of praise and DS looks beyond horrible..

@brimmul777: in general if you are that focused on playing mature games, and bashing “kiddies” games it’s probably a really good indication that you ain’t that mature...

Never really been into Pokemon, only remember Ash's milf mom and that weird camp guy with the Roses.

But it's probably better than Death Stranding.

That would be a too-easy get-out card. The point of the poll is that you're forced to choose either one or the other (or both).

I'm not into both of these games to be honest.
