Battlefield 3: Is it the universal graphics king?

Universal Graphics King meaning: It's the best looking PC game, the best looking 360 game and the best looking PS3 game.

So SW users what's your opinion on the visuals? What platform are you playing on and is it the best on that specific platform whatever that platform is?

For example you can start by saying

PC user: Yes its the best on PC or 360 user: No it's not the best on 360 or PS3 user: Yes, it's the best on ps3.

Obviously this is a tough question if you don't game on all 3 platforms. But I guess if you get a lot of users for each individual platform saying yes then I guess that can give you a decent idea.

Me personally I don't have the game yet but I've been reading a lot of praise for the visuals across all platforms which is why I made this thread especially now that people actually have the game.

I have only played it on the PC with everything set to ultra and I would say its definately one of the best looking games I have ever played. Not sure if its the best, but its certainly up there. Im getting a steady 54-60fps at all times too. :)

Most console gamers don't have TV designed for native HD in gaming ... they're playing on outdated sets and not getting the best available picture.

Any gamer who has a good set knows that right now Crysis 2 and BF3 are the best on consoles right now. Honorable mention is Uncharted 3, but only during the campaign.

BF3 pales in comparison to what Epic and Naughty Dog have done. I don't even begin to fathom how they sqeezed the lighting and particle effects out of Gears, or the color and animation out of Uncharted.

Me too. The game is very well optimized. never dropped below the 40s for me on ultra, except in multiplayer but thats more CPU heavy i think and my Core 2 Quad is showing its age.

I'd say yes BF3 is definatly way up there on PC. Some scenes looked close to photorealism. Also considering the scale and amount of players in mp, it still looks incredibly good.

Call me crazy, but I don't think it looks better than Crysis 2 with the DX11 patches.

I have only played Crysis 2 on my PS3. However, I was tempted to trade it in today to get Crysis 2 on the PC just to compare :lol: The reason why I didnt get it on PC to start with is because I didnt have a PC at the time.

I'm pretty sure the scale of BF3 is much greater than UC3 and Gears 3 with a greater level of interaction with the environment. Either way, yes BF3 is the best looking game on PC right now unmodded.

Not on consoles... Gears 3 looks better and Uncharted 3 looks better.

I think it's the best looking PS3 game in terms of games that attempt to emulate a realistic look. Overall though, I don't think so, but I think it comes down to art style preference more than anything else at this point.

Not on consoles. Uncharted 3> Battlefield 3, Gears 3 and Crysis 2> Battlefield 3.

There's nothing impressive about that. :|

I have not played console versions, but it is definitely king (non modded) on PC. I am not even maxed (high everything, ultra textures, no AA, max AF, HBAO on), and still it looks amazing and it runs better than Crysis. Crysis is poorly coded, and it shows. BF3 beats it easily IMO.

It's multi-plat but consoles can't run it? :| Doesn't look all that great either way compared to Crysis.

Besides some slight aliasing and a lower resolution, some console games hold their own against a few PC games.

No bullshots either.

I'm not saying that these games look better than the PC version of Battleflop 3, but I honestly don't see why hermits act like PC graphics make current-gen console graphics look like N64 games or something.

Well the PC can't run GeOW3, UC3, KZ3. So consoles are more pawarfull!!!!!
