I'm calling bull until I see it on Battlefield's official site.

These specs are similiar to those fake ones sent out around E3.

Yup, I knew it, this wont be maxxed on a GTX 460 or a 6850 ... like people have claimed. reccomended is never maxed 1080p 2x AA at 40+ FPS .... But, none the less will probably play great with some settings turned down. cant wait.

Not all that unreasonable if you've upgraded within the last year or so. I'd like to see how it performs at "Recommended" specs though, as I doubt it'll run fantastically.

Not official yet, but I have a 5850, how does that stack up against GTX 460/6850? I know it's better than a 460 for sure. If recommended is highish settings at 60fps (they keep talking about 60fps in PC version) then I will be fine either way.

I got the recommended settings, and I already planned to upgrade to the GTX 590, anyways. Good to know (if true).

If true, I'm all set for some great frames per second (well I hope). I bet at 1080p maxed with the recommended it'll be chugging.

Yep. I always aim above and beyond (I typically like to have much higher specs than necessary).

Resisting urge to buy new graphics card until next-gen.

oh lol I can't run it hahafunsohng

8800 GT not a DX10 card? It's the only part I know you have and I'm pretty sure it's DX10.

Having run Vista on 1GB RAM, on a laptop I might add, there's no way you'd be on your PC at all without a minimum of 2GB. It's bad. Very bad.

That leaves the processor. Surely, it's a dual-core?

Yup, I knew it, this wont be maxxed on a GTX 460 or a 6850 ... like people have claimed. reccomended is never maxed 1080p 2x AA at 40+ FPS .... But, none the less will probably play great with some settings turned down. cant wait.Birdy09

How do they come up with recommended specs anyways? 60fps at minimum settings under the most intensive moments in the game?

yeah, pc specs are a minefield, so many different components out there makes the spec estimations a lot like guesswork. oh & backgrpound programs are renowned for sapping performance. so the specs they post only really apply to brand new 'clean' PCs that just have the OS & game installed.

I learned a long time ago to keep my gaming PC clean. Now it's solely used for gaming and video playback. I have nothing other than the necessities installed.

Man, do I need an upgrade though :(

If this is true, I am all set :). My quad core CPU OC'd to 4 GHZ should work well, and my GTX570 is quite a bit better than a 460.

The podcast that just came on the other day had the DICE guy talkin about they're gonna hold off the sys reqs because the development has to get to a certain phase obviously. I don't expect the requirements to come out till just before or along with the September Beta.

This makes sense. Once DICE gauges how well people run the beta, they can get a fairly good estimate of what the minimum and the recommended specs should be.

"VG247 report that GameStop have listed system specifications for Battlefield 3. These aren't an official announcement from DICE so we can't confirm the required rig, yet, though we have contacted EA to verify the specs. Still worth a peek though eh?"

Right on the top... they are the same as the last set so... they seem reasonable, yet again, but it's still sounding like bs.

I'll need to upgrade my card and case, current case isn't large enough to fit a new card. I already knew I'd have to upgrade, though.

my GTX 460 is clocked at 900mhz, 33% above stock, so I guess I am above the recommended, plus my resolution is 1680x1050 not 1080p so my setup should be more than adequate for high settings.

If these specs are right, you could probably go for something along the lines of a GTX 560.
