I may be mistaken but doesn't that run the risk of getting banned evry easily. you're tweaking core files like how far the iron sights can zoom, projectile damage etc. This won't be allowed, it's literally legal hacks
Just saying BF3 looks 10 times better without the blue-greenish filter. Siene Crossing looks so much more f*cking natural.I may be mistaken but doesn't that run the risk of getting banned evry easily. you're tweaking core files like how far the iron sights can zoom, projectile damage etc. This won't be allowed, it's literally legal hacks

It actually looks worse, no kidding.
Even so Crysis still looks better.
EDIT: Okay, it looks much, much better but metro looks abysmal because the trees are oversaturated and everything looks very unnatural.

Like anyone was gonna say otherwise. It's pretty damn obvious the game would and does look miles better without those sh!t filters over everything. Such a shame they don't simply remove them after pleading so much.

It looks far better. The colours sit so well in the scenes now, especially inside the tunnels of Metro. It looks like the Alpha version now, which had the best visuals.

He sees the problems himself though and likely the tool will be blocked or the thread on it removed but this just shows how hungry people are for mod tools. Even just a simple colour correction.
But the tool also clearly highlights some glaring problems with what BF3 does in his own words.
"In bf2 the client basically tells the server that he fired a projectile in a certain direction and the server figures out the rest (material table, damage values, etc.). In bf3 the client tells the server nothing of that sort, but just "oh hey I hit enemy X for Y damage".

Whoever thought of that is the biggest moron at DICE. It's one of the worst aesthetic decisions I have ever seen go into a game. The Alpha looked absolutely gorgeous and somewhere between that and the beta they changed so much about how the game looked. It was far more photorealistic back then and I wish they changed it back
Another guy posted a method of how to do it in the game files themselves without a tool to do it and ehre's what he came up with.
A bit cartoony looking but definitely on the right track. Anything is better than that awful blue, and I don't like using the FXAA injector cos it exaggerates some maps.

Interesting. It's very easy to mod client side now, if they'd allow it.
If a color correction is so easily removed then DICE should implement it as an option to turn it off at least.

More natural than those bright-green as f*ck trees. Most of the art direction is built around that filter and it's noticeable in metro, in the other maps I'd say it looks much better yeah.

Yeah it seems stupid even after lots of petitions and threads demanding they remove it they still haven't done anything.
WTF is that?D=[QUOTE="seanmcloughlin"]
Actually I take it back. It makes Caspian Border look horrendous
mitu123
It seems to make blue tinted maps better like metro, seine and bazaar but all the other maps look crap with it
Yeah BF3 looks miles better without the filters, anyone who thinks the filters look better is an idiot.
real life has colors, go look out side your window for a second, everything isn't blue.

look's a bit washed out, turn up the color saturation and it will look great.

Watch this you will like it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Asqn9SNTnk&feature=youtu.be&hd=1Its a better video comparing the tweaked verseion compared to the original version
That's how I feel too. The game was designed to have a desaturated pallet, and when you mess with that the game doesn't look right. I am not a purist, either-- I use an ENB for Skyrim to make it look prettier, but what works for a fantasy RPG isn't necessarily going to work for an intense military FPS.Still prefer Cry3 over FB2.0
And other than the metro area, I'm not too keen on the color filter. The subway is 10x better without it but the other areas just seem off or now brightly oversaturated on the red gradient (a more orange-ish hue).

[QUOTE="seanmcloughlin"]Actually I take it back. It makes Caspian Border look horrendousJebus213Caspian border looked terrible anyway. It was bland even with the color tint. I absolutely refuse to play that map..
I use the FXAA injector so Caspian looks great and you refuse to play the best map that was ever in a BF game just because of the colours used? Sounds pretty pathetic if you ask me. The gameplay on that map far outweighs how it looks

Yeah and it seems to only make a good difference on the blue tinted maps. All the other maps looks worse with this. They're all washed out and literally have no colour in them
Hahaha dude it's been almost a year, I'm sure better drivers have been released since then. Give it another try so we can finally play when I get it.Now if only they could fix the game...

By all means, then, enjoy your ban.http://www.pcgamer.com/2012/10/03/dice-hints-bans-color-correcting-battlefield-3-mo/

Shut up, this has no relation to the FXAA injector. If the server is running MD5 tool all you'll get is a KICK because this mod modifies the core the files. People have taken that tweet way out of hand and has since been deleted. You deserve to be mocked. Holy sh!t, you put barely any time into gaming also. Yes, I waited a week to say that...By all means, then, enjoy your ban.http://www.pcgamer.com/2012/10/03/dice-hints-bans-color-correcting-battlefield-3-mo/

It's pretty idiotic that they don't send the hashes to a central server for validation (rule #1: always assume that the user is malicious). Still, once they see that this is exploitable in the wild, and given that they've made it clear that they oppose removing the color correction, does this really strike you as the safest idea? Especially once you get additional games on your Origin account, given EA's propensity for wielding the banhammer (see: BioWare forum incident)?By all means, then, enjoy your ban.http://www.pcgamer.com/2012/10/03/dice-hints-bans-color-correcting-battlefield-3-mo/
