Battlefield 4 player stats - consoles dominate

I was once a fan of BF since the first game, but quickly lost interest. How did the consoles end up dominating the series? Over 260k playing on consoles to a small 48K on PC. What happened to the huge PC gaming install base?

It's not like at this point console owners have a lot to play. Certainly not the shitastic LOU MP or GTA Online.

I'm going to ignore the fact that it's 4v1.

I stopped caring about Battlefield when it became designed with console controller limitations in mind, and catered to the more casual crowd of gamer. It hasn't been a PC-centric franchise in years which kills my interest when it comes to FPS games (outside of Halo)

It's only made worse by the fact that it's Origin-exclusive nowadays.

Great pit four against one I like how consolities like to pit all other platforms because they are "consoles" against the PC in order to get an edge.

How many times are we going to see the use of these stats? It's been around 3 or 4 threads, by my count.

This is for the time you looked at it. These numbers change all the time. One hour PC will be ahead, tthe next PS4, and so forth. PS4 usually has more than xbone though.

Dota 2 peaked at almost 562,000 today.

Them PS3 gamers got so many great games and they are all playing BF4, come on jk

Well consoles dont have much to play on. Now go look at steam's player count for numerous games lol. LoL and Dota 2, each one of those alone has more people playing them than the entire console online community current players I bet. Current Online players is a statistic PC will always win. People who want to play on a computer have one choice while consolites have 4 choices so comparing pc to all consoles is fair.

That being said, pc numbers are usually higher during the afternoon. PC gaming is more popular in UK where it's about 3 am right now.

PC version is factually the best and lol 4 vs 1.

I have BF3 on PC and did the BF4 beta on PC and hated both. For some reason I picked up BF4 for PS4 and I can't stop playing it. It's a lot funner on console. Maybe it has just been dumbed down to a console franchise lel. And for the morons saying it's 4vs1 it's still losing 1v1 to 3 of those 4, and is essentially tied with the 4th. Battlefield is definitely no longer a PC franchise.

I feel the exact same way. I put in over 500 hours in BF3 on PC. I barely made 22 in BF4 on PC. I can't stop playing it on the PS4. The pace of the game is much better. The Time To Kill is too fast for PC>

its really really REAAAAAALLY hard to believe. i got the 360 version of bf4 for free and tried it~~~~~~~~~~~~ my god is all that came to mind.

Free to play and works on every single PC out there because of very low system requirements. You don't even need a dedicated video card to play it. Those are the popular games on PC.

Yup. Doesn't stop it being very highly played. TC asked what happened to the large install base on the PC. Those are top-played games at the moment, on a single gaming service.

Because despite all the talk, the vast majority of PC gamers do not have monster or even respectable rigs. That's why most of the top played games can be run on 10 year old PCs.

Then, a chunk of the master begging race can't afford to buy games at launch because they sunk all their cash into a GPU that isn't even operating optimally because the rest of their PC is trash. They feel entitled and have been conditioned to wait for steam sales, and when the sale happens next year they will play the game for 2 days then go back to League of Leotards.

@TheFadeForever: cool numbers, I think you seriously misunderstood my original comment which was focused on all the 4:1 comments related to the original numbers when you didn't need to add them together for them to be higher. I had more of an issue with the logic, or lack there of, than the counts and whether they represented anything worth while.
