Just like ME2 both versions of BFBC2are exactly the same. So much for Hermits saying they get the better graphics when things like screen resolution and etc are vastly over rated. Personally I give this to the 360. Not only did it hold its own ground but actually proved the 360 can have top end graphics like todays high end Pc's. This is a real shame seeing how the 360 has been out for what 5 yrs now? Or did the 360 gimp the PC version so bad that it looks exactly the same? Either way its a good looking fun as heck game.I'll be picking this up for consoles. http://www.videogameszone.de/external/gfx/imagelayers/811x455.gif

Mograine

Nothing to see here folks. Just another downright stupid attempt at bringing down PC graphics.

Stupid attempt huh? Pretty vulgar language to use on a site like this eh? Did ya even look at the pictures? I don't think so, because if you did you wouldn't see a difference. Those pictures are more of a fact than anything you can put up in this argument so let me give you some advice...... Just leave it alone.

I can't talk for bad company 2, but ME2 runs at a stable 60fps on the pc... and with eyefinity you can run it on 3 monitors... like on my setup. 360 runs at 1280x720 upscaled... ew.

Both versions look pretty terrible judging from those shots, but if I had too I would choose the PC version due to the AA and AF options (which looks to be desperately needed). I also believe there is no DX11 in the PC beta? If that's the case the comparison would be pointless when the highest graphic level isn't accessible. Either way, I'll compare myself when the game releases.

I will link these pictures, since at least the PC screenshot is better viewed that way.

Xbox 360

PC

The PC screen is from my own rig (highest possible settings, 1920x1200, no film grain effect).

I don't know about you, but I certainly noticed a difference, and I expect more of the same in the case with the upcoming Battlefield:Bad Company 2.

EDIT: I can provide actual gameplay shots too, if needed (needless to say, the screens above are from the outfit customization menu).

Why would that be necessary? Hell, even if you were to remove the character model completely and solely focus on the font and buttons, you'd clearly see the difference.

Its still using the exact same assets though, texture quality, polygon counts lighting effects . Other then the resolution advantage they pretty much look the same.

I don't doubt that ME2 on 360 looks stunning but when we try to compare graphics vs PC then it is obvious who the winner is.

EDIT: any PC/360 game to be precise.

How in the world does the PC version looks just as good as the 360 at twice the resolution with 16x AF and 16x AA with constant 60 FPS?

Not only did it hold its own ground but actually proved the 360 can have top end graphics like todays high end Pc's.

gamewhat

A 360 optimized cross platform game does not prove 360 can match PC, it only proves what it is, a 360 optimized game under-utilizing PC hardware.

Why is it people only recognise under utilization when it comes to consoles? PS3 and 360 gamers are constantly going on about the utilization of their systems; and yet when it comes to PC the standards suddenly change. Is it really that surprising that hardware 'may' have improved since 2005?

Cross platform games target the lowest common denominator specification in order to ensure cross platform compatibility. A 360 to PC port is guaranteed to run on both systems, a PC to 360 port is not; due to the variety of resource and performance advantages even an entry level gaming PC has. This is done to ensure compatibility, not out of console favouritism like some console gamers like to suggest.

I haven't had much experience with ME2 as it is mostly my brothers interests. However, even if the art assets are identical, there is still a significant difference between console and PC. Regardless of your willingness to recognise it PC resolution and quality filtering has an impact on the games image quality, rising it above the console version.

i do agree with the tc ,dev dont push pc version of multiplat anymore . im prety sure its a money issue . This gen is very expensive for dev , so many studio has been closed . this gen hit a wall . in term of graphics not because of technology but because of economy.

Judging by the link the TC gave, BFBC2 will just be a blank white square :| ... but anyway, even if they look exactly the same, there's no doubt that the PC version will be running at a higher framerate, with more AA/AF, and at higher resolutions.

I only see a white square, but if it's from the beta I doubt it represents what the final version looks like maxed out. Still, I'm not expecting a massive difference, most multiplats look pretty similar aside from resolution, framerate and better filtering, but those can have a big effect on overall quality as well.

If this is how close the differences are now this gen, next gen I don't think there will be any need at all to get a PC. It will just be a preference instead of an overall improvement.

I played both the PS3 and PC betas. I can't comment on the 360, but i assume it will be similar to the PS3. The PC version of BFBC2 looks incredible. There is nothing wrong with the consoles versions, but it is a huge difference.

On top of the usual graphics stuff I found B:BC2's controls on PS3 to be incredibly akward to use...I could never get the crosshair to go exactly where I wanted it to. I can't comment on the Xbox 360 version ,but that is one thing that bugged me about the PS3 beta.
