Battlefield: Bad Company 2 - Xbox 360 vs PlayStation 3 comparison

Why do people compare these things?
Anyway, downloaded the demo, and I liked it...butI never played battlefield so I'm kind of lost on how it works :P
Thanks for this. The first Bad Company looked exactly the same on both the PS3 and 360 on my HDTV. Only some differences in hues.

So after looking over these shots, I think the 360 version looks a tiny bit better in some areas. Shouldn't effect the experience in motion at all though. I'll still be getting it on PS3 since I don't have XBL anymore.
Bad Company 1 was the same on both platforms I believe. Judging from these comparisons, the PS3 version looks a tiny bit washed out. It looks as if there's some sort of filter over everything. It's brighter too. I like the look of the 360 version a tad more.
What's impotant to me: which version runs better online? The 360 demo is silky smooth. And the PS3 beta was perfect as well. Haven't played the PS3 demo yet.
I'm no professional, but don't comparisons only work if, oh I don't know, they show the exact same image?
Means i get to give you a whooping as im getting it on PS3 too :PThanks for this. The first Bad Company looked exactly the same on both the PS3 and 360 on my HDTV. Only some differences in hues.

I played both demos, and I thought that the ps3 versions looked a bit better.Maybe it was because I played the demo first on my ps3

I actually played the 360 one first and I thought it looked better. These scans definately say, they are exactly the same.
Who cares when you're recreating the church tower scene from Saving Private Ryan on a regular basis. 8)AAllxxjjnn
So I'm not the only one that feels like the battles feel like the ending to Saving Private Ryan. 8) Game looks lidentical except the 360 looks like it might have slightly better lighting, though that may be because of the contrast difference between the shots.
Nope. No quincunx there buddy. Would've been nice. It looks like a resolution problem to me? Actually the lighting in the PS3 version is better, gives the PS3 a more realistic appearance to me.Looks like PS3 is using Quicunx AA, it always wash out the textures.
IMO the 360's version looks more realistic, sharper and with a better draw distance details, but apparently PS3 performs just as well so there are no complaints from me :)

Um Gee...I could have told you they are practically the same.:P
Still, I will let the fan's pick the quotes as they like :
"Where the two versions differ the most is in their shading and texture definition. In the case of the former, you'll see from our shots that the 360 version appears significantly darker - as seen here. The PS3 version, on the other hand, appears slightly more washed out - although this actually ensures objects and detail are more visible in darker situations.
For that though, the textures on the 360 version are all the sharper. Regardless of whether you're looking at an object close up or at a distance, so long as the lighting is favourable, it's much easier to make out specific details on objects in the 360 version.
As for which is better, it's really a matter of preference. Given how frequently you move from light to dark areas, we found the slightly brighter PS3 version to be more to our liking – but the differences really aren't that great when you see it in motion."
Bottomline, they are practically the same.
Pixel counting is crazy this gen.:P
Anyone have a comparison of the console versions compared to the PC version on the highest settings, I'm curious as to how good it looks on the PC compared to consoles.
I guess you win no matter what what with having both consoles and all!Um Gee...I could have told you they are practically the same.:P

The PC beta is stuck on one setting but it'll change when they acutally release it.Anyone have a comparison of the console versions compared to the PC version on the highest settings, I'm curious as to how good it looks on the PC compared to consoles.

Yes, that's certainly the case.Just like every console generation for generations now. I remember the old SW, when it was just XBOX/GC/PS2, but back then there were no Trophies or Gamerscore, so people just had to trust whoever. These days, at least there is some sort of way to show some games are being played. .:P
The only real differences I really like to know is like Bayonetta which is better on 360, or Dragon Age, better on PS3. Then again, that's not bringing the wonderful PC into things.:P
By looking at the pictures and what the article says, its safe to say that the PS3 has won this one.
PS3 version looks terrible in comparison. I'm noticing HDR, aliasing, and texture quality differences to a substantial degree.Brownesque
Please tell me u are joking. http://www.gameswire.net/comparisons/comparison-large_2_47_split.html

Well I can tell you that I just played a game on Unreal Engine 2k4 and that game soundly defeats both versions. I also played CoH and that makes these screens look miserable. The Xbox 360 version looks merely bad, whereas the PS3 version is veritably hideous.Anyone have a comparison of the console versions compared to the PC version on the highest settings, I'm curious as to how good it looks on the PC compared to consoles.

You can notice the differences more when you click on view stacked instead of split.Anyone have a comparison of the console versions compared to the PC version on the highest settings, I'm curious as to how good it looks on the PC compared to consoles.

Except the HDR on the PS3 is epic fail. Heck half of the game doesn't even have shadows so the Xbox beating the PS3 isn't exactly a big deal. http://www.gameswire.net/comparisons/comparison-large_2_47_split.htmli'm guessing u mean maxed out but the game looks alot better imo if you disable bloom. Its sucks for ocnsole users who have on option at all to change it to see what they like better.Anyone have a comparison of the console versions compared to the PC version on the highest settings, I'm curious as to how good it looks on the PC compared to consoles.

Playing the pc beta and the console demos, I can tell you that as they are today, that the ps3 version is the worst. No bias here as I have all platform connected to my hdtv. I'll give you a good reason why.
Yesterday while playing the ps3 version, I was on the defending team. I went up to the top of the building nearest crate B ready to snipe the attackers that like to camp at the rock at the top of the opposing hill. When looking through the scope the rock was changing shape due to the textures drawing in. That imo is a deal breaker to me. I was moving backwards and forwards only a little to highlight this affect. I never saw this on the 360 version.
Looking at screen shots don't tell the whole story sometimes. But this is not the final versions so.....
Here are some pics i took with FRAPS on the PC beta, they don't actually look quite as good as in game, but they'll do for now:

EDIT: For some reason imageshack resized them, sorry.
To me it looks like the Xbox 360 version has superior ligthign (check first pic, the AK is very dark on the inside while the PS3s is lighted evreywhere) and evreything on the PS3 version looks foggy, some wierd filter...
Guys, i just went to play the demo, and i payed a little more atention to the graphics. And those screens dont do the PS3 justice. Playing it, it was basicaly like the 360 version from those screens but it was alot more gritty, the colors werent as vibrant. Thats basicaly the only differance i could notice.
