If Sony dies....who's to say somebody far more powerful won't take their place? What then Sheeps and Lemmings???? WHAT THEN???
Seriously though, imagine if somebody entered the console market and played it with some degree of competency?

Maybe Sega will see an opening and decide to make hardware again! :oHeil68
Fat chance they will, as much as I want to see them making consoles again. They don't have the necessary funds to do it.
Apple competing? LOL, have fun with your $1000 consoles  (Oh, that's right, they have made a console before...Apple Bandai Pippin. But look at how that went.)
Samsung and Apple sig ... we must share the same brain cells.rasengan2552Must not have any if you support those 2 companies.

Nothing. XBox and Wii will live on. Companies who were making PS3 games will just make the games for the 360 and Wii instead. Most likely Apple or someone else would jump into the gaming market. Apple makes pretty good hardware. I'd be curious as to what kind of gaming console they would make.
Don't worry about Apple coming in, if they did they would fail miserably.
Also, Sony is fine and everyone know's it.
I actually wouldn't mind Samsung coming in. I don't want Sony to leave though. If Apple takes their place, we are all doomed.Eponique
Although I like Samsung, they (or Apple) are not going to enter the console market. Like meetroid8 said, it's not going to happen & would be far more risker for them.
And honestly, I don't know why people want Apple out of all companies to enter the gaming division, in which they charge people an arm & a leg for most of their products in which you can get the same stuff that Apple has from other companies for far better & for far less money.
We arent wishing Sony to die, everyone here is just trolling to some degree or another.
I, a sheep since I started gaming when I was 6, would much prefer Sony to stay around. The more competition there is, the better I say.
Dunno man, they have the rabid fanbase to succeed. :PDon't worry about Apple coming in, if they did they would fail miserably.

Bandai Pippin was in the 90's. Apple's kind of different now....

This is the type of quality we'd see with their games, people aren't THAT stupid.
Their IOS games on phones only succeed because they're 99 cents and they're only meant to be played 5 minutes at a time - that business model wouldn't work on dedicated game consoles.
Apple is in a completely different market.
Maybe Sega will see an opening and decide to make hardware again! :oHeil68
In your dreams, and mine.
Sega wouldn't be able to survive without someone like sony to compete with. We all know MS isn't trying to compete in the creaton of high qualty games race, and nintendo is going thru a mid life crisis they don't know what they want to do with their system. It would be like sony dying all over again.
Seag made sony and in the same way sega made nintendo too...but it's diffrent now that MS plays a diffrent type of game than the old traditional game companies. Sega couldn't compete with MS the way they did Big N and Sony from generations before.

LOL, those graphics look like they came from a N64 or a PS1 game.

Still, they won't stand a chance against either Nintendo or Microsoft, especially not with the way that they handle their business.

Sigh did you even read my post? Their fanbase doesn't care, they will buy it just to support Apple.Maybe Sega will see an opening and decide to make hardware again! :oHeil68I could dig that. :P
It would require an immense investment for a company to develop a new console and then garner the support needed to compete with two already established corporations. Samsung and Apple could easily bankrupt themselves in that venture.meetroid8What? MS did it and with Apple already having a massive gaming foothold they have a chance at getting in. Samsung I don't think would do it however as that could be a suicide mission.
Maybe Sega will see an opening and decide to make hardware again! :oHeil68I could dig that. :P I always love lack of games with my hardware.
Pretty sure if Samsung had a console there would be no Japanese games on it. No way would Japanese developers support a Korean console.
PC has been doing good with no competition, so consoles, should be able to do with less, apple is a joke

doesn't matter if you think Apple is a joke. It's the results and success that talk. Apple owns the tablet space, spurred the smart phone market, a third of all-in-one PCs are iMacs, has over $50 billion in cash and it maybe be able to do for the Smart TV market what it did for smart phones. No joke.PC has been doing good with no competition, so consoles, should be able to do with less, apple is a joke

Do you have any idea how much revenue Apple brings in annually and what that company is worth? Somehow I think they can afford to make a few investments that fail.
nothing wrong with that. Lemmings and Sheep will finally have some faction to take seriously. :) I don't think Hermits would care, they've seen companies come and go.. Atari, Colecovision, Neo-Geo, Phillips, Panasonic, Sega and maybe Sony.If Sony dies....who's to say somebody far more powerful won't take their place? What then Sheeps and Lemmings???? WHAT THEN???
