I hope to see a lot of different stuff than we saw In MW2. I want a commie Zombie mode and a new twist to multiplayer to make it feel fresh.

im sure it will be fine just like mw2. they will probably learn from that games mistakes and improve on the formula a bit but also take a step or two back. in the end i expect another solid real score 7, press score 9 shooter
Looks good so far.
I wouldn't care if the MP is similar to MW2 since i still enjoy playing it from time to time.
A real score 7 compared to what? A real score scale? I mean the only thing you can compare it ot is other press scores, and honestly, any Call of Duty review I have seen typically falls into the same scale properly. At least in so much as any other reviews.im sure it will be fine just like mw2. they will probably learn from that games mistakes and improve on the formula a bit but also take a step or two back. in the end i expect another solid real score 7, press score 9 shooter

Excuse me sir,is this the place to ask for a milkshake?Arach666
sure is. with activision around, there's enough milkage for everyone.
I think it will be more versatile a game than COD:MW and MW2 are, reason being Black Ops spans what seems to be a much larger timeline, so you're going to experience some of the more modern, high-tech weaponry with a blend of some the retro good stuff from the 60s and 70s. The effect that has on storyline will also make the game feel more fresh. My biggest concern is that because it is done by Treyarch and not IW, it's not going to feel like quite the same experience (control-wise and interactively). For me, that's a bad thing because I really admire the build of IW's games, the way they're paced and how the controls correlate into the gamer's enjoyment. Right now, I give the pre-launch hype a B to B+ just because it's not a surefire AAA.
I think I will be skipping the rest of the COD series this gen, and probably next as well. Actually, I may be skipping any shooter from EA as well. None of these games perform well online, so I will most likely be looking towards Sony's first party shooters for my online games.
From the trailers it looks awesome, but really that's just marketing. Treyarch IMO did a mediocre job on WAW.
1. Forgetful story, it was historical, but it was also forgettable. One thing I liked about MW2 is the over the top story.
2. MP was unbalanced. Basically anybody of a higher level than you has better stuff than you MW had balance, but MW2 not so much.
3. MP was unoriginal. Basically everything innovative in MW was copied straight to WAW
4. Lower quality. I don't know if it was budget or skill, but the overall design of WAW was not up to par w/ MW.
Considering these 4 things I don't have high hopes for CODBO.
Treyarch are a better developer than Infinity Ward. World At War was much more fun than Modern Warfare 2, and since Treyarch have said that they are going to build on their own successes, and now have the breathing room to make the changes that they want to with the franchise, Im relatively excited by Black Ops.
Infinity Wad's success had made them arrogant and, for whatever reason, they clearly didnt care much about their product. Treyarch, on the other hand, seem to always put maximum effort in. So far, they have been forced to develop according to rules set by Activision and IW. Now, they are the most senior CoD developer.
I generally dislike FPS games, but the fast paced, arcade nature of Call of Duty gameplay makes it fun for me to pop the disc in every now and then.

as a aformentioned post of mine they were lisensed the mw ip by iw but now respawn are the only ones able to make them ie the iw team
but i do agree treyarch do seem to be there to soo what works and what doesnt and do what they think is best such as nazi zombies iw/respawn would not do that, seeing as they are at ea now we will probably see it come around now , as there milk masters demand it
I have no thoughts on anything COD-related anymore. It was On Notice last year but now it's Dead to Me.
