When a game is shoved down the throats of gamers soo much, gamers have no choice but to anticipate it and want it

Killzone 1 = flop of astronomical proportions

Killzone PSP = 8.3 nothing to wet your pants over

Killzone 2 = a CGI movie which the developers of the franchize lied through their teeths that it was in game gameplay

I mean what does it take for you people to realize that Killzone 2 is nothing but hype with absolutely no substance and credibility to even anticipate this game? I don't care how much the budget is. It's been two freaking years since the CGI movie was released and not a single screenshot. Not one. This game has been hyped soo much by cows that if it doesn't make me sprout a boner when it's revealed at E3... it's a flop

If Killzone 2 scores anything below a AAA rating.. it will be the flop of the millinium. Then they will shove Killzone 3 down our throats so much that we will have no choice but to anticipate it. The never ending cycle

you do realize that there is a 40mil budget, and 120 developers on this game right? if they screw this up, they would have to be trying. cause seriously, with 40mil, i could get a degree in game design, and make the thing myself.

You do realize that the budget is reflective of the system's hardware capabilities and not the quality of a game, right?

While that does seem promising, they still don't have a very good track record.

Yes there is way to much hype for this game. Hype kills games because they build unrealistic expectations. 'this game will be a 9.9!' then, when it gets 9.0, everyone's disappointed even though it's a AAA game.

why would hardware capibilities make the budget higher? might have something to do with the 120 developers, and the many other things involved in making a game, only more extreme it would seem in this case

More money is spent on graphics and in game engines. Thus why it's can take 2-3 times as much money to develop a PS3/360 game as a Wii game. Still, 40 million is pretty big, just hope it's going to making a better game, not just a better looking one.

agreed, if it sucks ass, im going to find the developers, and kick them in the nuts, and hope they never make another game. but i have faith that there is almost no way this game could suck, you would almost have to have the most retarded group of developers on the planet. i mean 120 people, at least like 10 of em have to know what they are doing, just by simple luck alone.

i agree. but lets stop defending killzone until we actually see it. im a sony fan but im not ready to hype killzone until the day we actually contol it for ourselves. just let the lems poke fun at it until we see it. if its good we will sh*t em up.

lost planet had a budget of 40 million and it looked great, blue dragon had a bugdet of 30 million it looked great, gears of war had a budget of 10 million and it looked like the most amazing game of last year and won game of the year award, so you dont really need a really big budget, so stop bringing that up

no, Lost planet had a 20million dollar development budget, and 20mil for advertising. Killzone 2 has a 40mil development budget.

I don't know how you can say anythign below AAA will be the flop of the millenium. I'm pretty sure people are holding off their official hype until they actually see the darn game for cryin' out loud.

Killzone Liberation surpassed expectations when it got AA. I think that Geurilla should be able to pull off an 8.5 with Killzone 3 without much problems. Cross your fingers and it just might get a 9.0, if the upward trend from KZL continues.

Daikatana.

TheGrossPervert

How so? Halo 3 is a AAA franchise. Both games have been incredibly successful, and Halo 2 is still revered and played three years later.

Killzone was a terrible flop followed by a good game that was basically a completely new and different game with the same name.
