I say MGS4. I loved the story and the gameplay of the it.
GTA4... not so appealing for me. I plan to beat it over Christmas break and I can see how it is such a great game, but its not my thing all that much. We'll see after I beat it.

Yeah, this is true... and I'm voting for MGS4 cause I really love it, GTA IV is great but I got bored like halfway throughout the game, Multiplayer is awesome though.

Yep, becase they're going to rewrite the entire game just for a sub-par multi-disk port to the 360 which probably wont even sell that well. They've said it so many times, the game was made for the PS3. It was written for it, designed for it and optimised for it. It's not a cheap job to port it.
This coming from a Grand Theft Auto fan, who loved Vice City and San Andreas

Am I the only person who loved GTAIII? No one seems to mention it. Personally I think GTAIV took a genre of gaming that was already shrieking and writing in a pool of it's own blood and put it out of it's misery. Crime/Sandbox gaming got old after San Andreas and personally GTAIV didn't do enough to make itself different. NB: Multiplayer GTA does NOT bode well.

If one followed the MGS franchise then MGS4 might very well be the best game ever made. If not, it is an amazing experience with a great, yet understandably confusing, plot.
GTA4 is a great game as well, though too much on the casual side for my tastes.

Anyway, Metal Gear Solid IV: Guns of the Patriots by far. I've only had a little time with each, but I'm also basing this off of my enjoyment from its previous games in the franchises.

Mgs4 was the same weak sauce crappy psychotic story that we saw in 2-4 the ones where its easy to tell kojima lost any talent he ever had, MGs1 was the only good metal gear solid its story atleast made sense most of the time, Mgs4 like 2 and 3 was filled with useless filler back story that need not be there and gave us no real insight to why the characters were there in the first place, and thats a fact.
Both were outstanding games....MGS4 was the best for me because I love single player games, and the devs have been getting away from that too much. MGS4 was what I needed. Now Dead Space is continuing it for me.
