Best Action Game of 2010

I thought that 2010 was a great year for action games when you look at the top three choices in the poll. I consider Dante's Inferno the weakest in the poll but I know people still like it. For me the choice is very difficult but I think I'd have to go with Castlevania. My big choice was between Castlevania and Darksiders. I had the same amount of fun with each and the only thing dividing them is that I thought the story was better in Castlevania. God of War was a very enjoyable game but I don't think it was up there with Castlevania and Darksiders. So Castlevania gets my vote. What game gets your vote and why?

Combat wise none of them were even playing in the same league. Boss fights were great, variation was on point, and it's built for replayability. Can't say that about the other **** stains you posted and God of War 3(the only good game in that list you posted).

Even though Just Cause 2 is a third person shooter and not an action-adventure game they both are action sub-genres.. Just like Hack n Slash.

You should have said that from the start. An action game can be a Shooter, Platformer, Fighter, BEMUP/HacknSlash.

The word is rarely used that way, the vast majority of times it's impicit it's about H&S games.

This poll is crappy without Bayonetta and RDR. I would pick these 2 games over anything else on that list. LOL!!

The combat, while great, is more like a button smasher than anything on the market even GOW, the option to evade at anytime is also, while gives you freedom. encouraging the button smashing pattern, some enemies are just pain in the a$$ that's not even fun, the motorcycle, the rocket, the QTEs ..etc are also not fun at all ....... and I hate the gameover screen.

The game really excells in the art direction, I like Bayonetta World ...... I like the bosses (except the tentacles), the combat with all its flaws when mastered can be so much fun, I saw some videos and I was amazed .... but overall an AA game.

I spent around 40 hr with this, unlocked almost everything and I dun intend to play it again, I actually played GOW3 more !!!!!

For the record, the tentacle boss is one worst most annoying bosses ever, made me hate the game.

Although I really did like Castlevania, I gotta give it to Bayonetta. Ninja Gaiden (xbox) and Devil May Cry are still better though.

I disagree. I played through RDR and was done. I don't want to see another cougar or badits with a broken cart axel again. Just Cause 2 is the kind of game I can ALWAYS come back to and find a way to have ridiculous fun. and it's incredibly beautiful. I was playing it on pc last night, and I found this inlet where the waves were lapping against the shore of this paradisical cove, and I just stayed there and swam around for about 15 minutes admiring the beauty. Then, I ordered a helicopter and hijacked a plane in mid air.

Then I would say you have bad taste in games. But I'm not going to say that because it's rude. So instead I'm going to say that the evidence at hand points to you having a different opinion than I do, which is fine because that is the nature of opinions. Well that's what I thought at first, but then I noticed the "none of the above" option, which got me to thinking... MAYBE, going off of his thread title, he originaly wanted to include ALL action games, but at the same time he wanted to create a poll as well, which conflicts with the notion of including all action games BECAUSE the limited options of a poll simply wouldn't allow for such a thing, SO he added the "none of the above" option for the sole purpose of people like me coming in and stating Vanquish as the best game of 2010 and one of the greatest ever which it so is. *dies from exhaustion*
